Core dynamics and Guatamaya only sell to Feds or Imps respectively, at least I'd assume that's the case in the lore.

Core Dynamics sell the Vulture, which is available in all space, not just the feds.

Core Dynamics sell the Eagle, which again is not only to the feds (strictly speaking they only sell parts to keep them running lore wise)

It's decent enough for what it is for the price, but most who have access to it have likely already moved well beyond its significant relevance, subjective taste preferences not withstanding.

It's a tough nut to crack, one which I wouldn't have minded delving into earlier on, but in the context of the game as a whole, well, better left to those who have a compulsion for such things.

I just re-bought a mk4 after trying it right after the release of Horizons and thought it to be meh.
Now that I have it engineered and fitted a fsd booster it's a nice little materials gatherer.
Bolted on a wake scanner a colector limpet controller and a SRV, it's pretty cool now.
It runs a tad hot though with an overcharged powerplant and G5 dirty drag drives but it's manageable.
