Why do dinossaurs that like one another kill each other?

I had two Allosaurus. I added 3 Metriachosorus (I know I'm misspelling). Tooltip says they like each other. Everyone was 100% happy. Allosaurus and a Metriachosorus fight, the smaller dies. It happened really soon after I put them there. Again, everything was happy. Why add the tooltip that the light each other, if they don't?

The term "likes" is inaccurate... all it means is an animal counts as 0 towards the population limits of animals that likes them... in the case of "hates" the population counts as 2 instead... it means nothing in terms of being able to live peacefully...

Wait, so that means they’ll still kill each other even if we put them together? Also, can you explain it a bit more clearly. I dont get it. They seriously need to let carnivores cohabitate and live peacefully together. They should also let herbivores and carnivores live peacefully without killing each other

What? Carnivores usually don't mingle with other species IRL unless they're at a common water source or something like that. You don't see lions mingling with zebras and hyenas or wolves mingling with bears and deer. They're shown similarly throughout the JP franchise.

Good point. Ok then could they atleast hv where carnivores ans herbivores cohabitate unless the carnivore is hungry or has low comfort or during storm

That would still not make sense. If you put a zebra into a cage with lions, they will probably kill it regardless of their hunger. Just to practice their hunting skills.

But that's what we should have the territory system for, don't we?

So that single species form territories away from those they don't like and vice versa?

PS: Now that I think of it, that would add another layer of enclosure building. Build properly sized enclosures to minimize carnage and encourage territories. Sadly that's not how it works ingame.

Yes that's the only time they tolerate each other. If lions are thirsty, they don't have energy to hunt. So what's going to happen after they finish drinking in the enclosure? LOL
What bout the Cretaceous cruise with the baryonx and metri with apatosaurus and stegosaurus
