Why do my dinosaurs keep attacking each other?

My velociraptors and my coelophysises are at 100% comfort. They are not cohabitating with anything else. All their needs are met. Some of them aren't even aggressive or dominant. Despite all this they continue to try to kill each other and I have to keep medicating them. Is it just in their nature to attack each other no matter what?

Same thing here and it happened from one second to the other. They were fine for over an hour 100% happy and I didn‘t change a single thing and now the suddenly won‘t stop killing each other and all I do anymore is paying to treat dinos that shouldn‘t even be fighting like that in the first place.

And on top of that all my herbivores now have an untreatable common cold that should cure on its own but it doesn‘t. It’s not going away, keeps draining my dino‘s health and park funds since they’re sick and in the end it transforms into pneumonia which is even worse…not to mention the endless task assigning because those MVUs can‘t scan and cure at once >.>

Someone really needs to look into this because that‘s no fun at all and I actually quit playing yesterday because of this.

Glad I'm not the only one. I literally just quit now, because this crap kept happening, and on top of that like 50 storms hit me. I am not having fun with this game.

To stop them fighting so much make a single Dinosaur that has higher attack or defense and higher dominance than all the others. It'll easily become the alpha and beyond the fighting needed to establish that it should prevent further fighting.
The incurable common cold is stupid. No two ways about that.

Already have that and like I said earlier they were totally fine and didn‘t fight once in over an hour and now it’s like someone hit a switch and they simply won’t stop fighting. It doesn’t make sense since nothing was changed even a little, they simply started it out of nothing.

Are you sure the traits are active and only one has them? It's worked every time for me so if it's not that idk.

100% sure, I went through all of them and threw out the ones that have those traits. And the weird thing is that it really always seems to start happening about 1-1.5h into playing, before that they're totally fine and then they go crazy.

I also wouldn't mind them fighting like that if not every single one of those fights would end in an injury you gotta cure manually. Just let them heal minor stuff naturally, but nooo, it's always send MVU, send them again because they drive away after scanning or even switch to tranqu/move and back because MVU can't deal with it and that gets old real fast.

That's definitely something I agree on. The vets should heal minor injuries straight away and major injuries should be a rarity if not unheard of in fights between the same species.

do you have the raptors and the cellophyses together? the raptors have to be without another species. they eat everything

Okay I think I got it. The dinosaurs with + Dominance or/and who have the "Aggressive" trait are more likely to attack others of its own species. I noticed that of my 5 Triceratopses, only the ones with the "Social" trait attacked each other (Social trait has a +30% Dominance), whereas the ones without it didn't fight at all. So if none of the dinosaurs have +Dominance or are aggressive, they most likely won't attack each other.

Okay one of my Majungasauruses had +30 Dominance due to the "Humble" trait, and she kept fighting with another Majungasaurus that didn't have any + or - Dominance. In fact, it was Docile. An explanation is that this Majungasaurus is the Alpha, and they were just fighting for the position of alpha.

I mean i feel this is just a feature of the new game, and it feels more realistic, animals dont always coexist perfectly, so having the odd in species fight will happen. jwe 1 always felt a little too simulated, you just left them alone and aside from the odd disease and feeder restock you didnt really need to do anything.

So I've been mucking around with the genetic modifications. And I've found that if you breed one batch specifically to have the social mod, then just take one ideal candidate for alpha, and then synthesise a second batch with more generally useful mods that don't affect dominance, i.e. small appetite, immune system etc. Then you have a solid alpha and fights will barely happen, plus a group with useful mods.

I have a pack of 8 troodons with 0 fights, and a herd of chasmasaurus which have also had 0 fights over 2 hours. Plus since you discard all the other eggs in the alpha batch you can modify with humble stat too since the alpha applies it to the whole pack. You wont be able to modify to 100% for both but go 50 or 75 and usually you'll get one ideal roll and discard the rest of the batch.

Plus i enjoy making an alpha with a funky colour scheme that stands out from the group.

Edit, p.s. i havent kept an alpha with the aggressive trait yet. Might be interesting to see if that works too without making the dinosaur fight others in the group.

I tried the aggressive gene. You don't want that on anything that isn't gonna be 100% solitary.
I also like having a unique skin on my alpha Dinosaurs but I don't think Troodon actually need one as mine lasted my whole playthrough without any fights.

Yh figured aggressive would be a bad idea lol. Good to know.

This is accurate. As long as there's a clear Alpha in a group, there will be less fights. The Alpha keeps the rest of the herd in check.
