Why do officers attack me even though I'm clean?

It happens to me too. And it isn't all, like if there are abunch of them around, only one will be doing it. No bounty, no fines nothing. It happens after you've been in the area a while. no Idea why...very annoying. I retract hardpoints and supercruiser at 0 speed, then drop out again on the nav point and it resets it.
If you attack a wanted ship belonging to the faction the security forces are part of they will turn hostile and attack you. Best bet if this happens is to supercruise away and return. This will reset the instance.
That is not exactly true. You can attack a ship that THEY are attacking and few seconds after it's destroyed one of them turns on you. No accidental hits or anything. It's a bug and it's really starting to become annoying. I spend a lot of time at Nav Beacons and this
kinda ruins my time there.
Yep, this is a known issue and I think Sandro said that they're investigating it. But they probably won't have a fix for it until some time next week. Until then when they go hostile you need to super cruise out and then you can go back in, they will be back neutral again when you come out of SC.
THIS. Happens all the time, taken a few serious hits actually. like when that conda jumped in and one shot all my shields and 50% of my Asp's hull...
Hehehe. Just wait until you upset a faction that has "fixers". I have only seen it happen once myself but I have seen other reports here.
I was happily popping criminals at a nav beacon (stayed longer than I usually do) and out of nowhere a pair of elite Sidewinders armed with railguns dropped in and charged right at me. My poor Eagle went from hero to Rincewind in about 2 seconds. I barely got out of there alive
I had this happen to me 3 times in about 2 hours today. At best guess it has to do with the threat system or the like. Some ships will attack if you fly to close, open your hardpoints, and shoot near them. Perhaps with the officers once you have been flying near them, with your ports open, and shooting for long enough they aggro as well. What ever the reason I am glad I am in a fast ship when it happens because they don't get a wanted status for shooting clean ships. I hope this one gets a fix but I just use the super cruise work around atm.
