Why do park funds change so drastically?

In one year I can make $20,000 in shop sales and then the next I suddenly am only taking in $12,000 even though I have 300+ more visitors.

From one year to the next I go to making $56,000 in profit to the next year making -$14,000 with absolutely no change to my zoo whatsoever OTHER than adding in a safari ride. Adding in a safari ride has increased my visitor count but drastically decreased my profit....which seems opposite to what it should be. My ride upkeep is only around $1,100 a year so it's not from that. I'm already counting the cost of building my safari ride so that is not part of the profit loss I'm talking about.

I don't understand what money fluctuates so much.

Anyone else seeing weird things like this?

It might be a little overwhelming as a whole, but the main thread regarding this issue (esp. costs) is here:

How are your guests happiness levels? Did you use the heat maps and read their thoughts?

My guests are super excited. I have a park rating of 4.2

Their complaints are basically bugs I can't take care of with staff (vandalism that mechanics won't fix and has been reported) so I have to manually go around and take care of it.

This seems to be the case....as my zoo gets bigger, the food cost is ridiculous. I have every animal set to level 1 food. There's no way to keep up feeding them.

I didn't change anything animal wise but the food increase gets higher and higher. I noticed that my Gharial population has exploded...but I can't do ANYTHING about it because all the Gharials are babies so I can't sell them or trade them.

I'm basically stuck.

Animals cost only.
If i count the zoos together i had its... maybe 400 years?... i always had solid numbers, for good or for bad.
Sometimes early i almost went bankrupt because noob-me build wrong, then i calculated staff wrong.
I placed habitats wrong, i forgot marketing and whatnot.
I did every mistake you can do, but with time and patience i could figure out what was wrong and fix it, because you can see
exactly what income and expenses you got.

Just the bugged (and it is bugged, rolling a dice about what food cost will be this year can't be intented) animal food was deadly.
I killed my first/huge zoo and have only small ones with 12-15 habitats, build for effiency i can make profit with ca 2500-3000 vandalazing, hoggish je... uhm i meant guests.
When i build bigger the arbitrary jumps for food costs are not 🐻able.
