Why do so many CMDRs simply disappear at destruction

It seems almost all the time I destroy a CMDR, they don't actually blow up, I don't get any bounty, they just vanish?

Bug? Or are they quitting before destruction?

considering how many NPC's also disappear at 0% hull i'd say bug myself. if you quit the game your ship is supposed to hang around for a bit (IIRC)

In my experience I'd say the proportion of players that just seem to disappear are far higher.

I've the same experience. The PC ship just vanishes, depriving me of a climatic, hard earned firework display. :D
This has been happening in most PvP fights unless the PC is in a 'Conda.
Meh, miserable bug.

Probably it is a networking issue. Something in the communications between players. Similar things occurred during A4.

Same issue for me. Checking my stats page after each kill does show that I did in fact kill them, I just never actually get to witness the explosion. NPC explosions work just fine for me.

Sometimes ships escape to supercruise before getting destroyed. Look for the light flash. Not always, though.

If this is the case, then the supercruise needs to be more obvious.

My take on supercruise is a bright flash and a pair of trails into the distance.

In the ship down to 1 or 0% hull and then they vanish, this is not seemingly the case.

Poooof! Gone :(

There should be a nice big explosion, or a nice big (clear) supercruise escape. Not a big ?

It's called combat logging, in DayZ you see it all the time, the new fix did help, aka your toon will stay 30 sec after you log out.

It is pretty obvious when the ship goes into SC, there is a distinct sound if I am correct. However, when they simply disappear - this is a bug.

It could well be people task killing, or simply "save and quit to menu".

They won't get away with it in final release. Combat logging has been discussed at length in the DDF, I really can't see the game being released without a solution being implemented.

My problem is that when I shoot full load of missiles from my Anaconda to any other CMDR´s ship, no matter what, I crash almost instantly before/after missiles hit (/ship blows up in case missiles get through). Game crashes in about 95% of cases, much rarer with npc.

Have been uploading crash reports from these crashes all day...

Should I ticket too, as I have been already told this issue will be resolved in next update (still I´m worried we miss something, eventhough unassigning Loaned C2 Pulse Laser, I cant change, and Heat Sink Launcher, seem not to help).

No, in almost all situations, someone disappearing as they hit 0% is a bug.

PC, NPC, it doesn't matter.

I've been killed, flown back to chat to the CMDR I was dogfighting with, and have him ask, "What happened?". From my point of view, I exploded. From his, I simply vanished.

Ahh! Most useful to know! Thanks!
