And they're always wearing their seat belts!

Why?!

I swear every other profile picture that is a selfie, is someone in their car, wearing the seat belt! Is there some kind of message I'm missing?

I'm pretty sure even a regular poster on this site has such a profile picture! Why?!

But I would generalize this question - Why do so many people take selfies?
I never understood that. I took one selfie in my whole life when a long time friend of mine who lives on the other side of the planet asked me for it, because she hadn't seen me for 10 years and wanted to see how I look, now.

I took a selfie once. It's since been deleted. :D

I prefer illustrations for my avatars and profile pictures.

I'm surprised anyone uses phones while driving over there.

What can I say? Im a mid 40s single parent, all I got going fer me is a nice car and my rugged good looks so a mechanic that gets both works of art into the one pic, then thats the dating site profile picture taken care off...now to spin a web of lies in the writing bit and tell them Im an airline pilot or some other .

Yes yes I know its shallow but someones gotta keep all the housewives from dying of boredom and when ye have a lotta baggage like I do, then every little helps. Shallow certainly but do I care? Not even remotely ^

I don't understand these selfies.

I'd rather take pictures of stuff, than myself.

I can see myself in the mirror if I really want too.

And if anyone else wants to see me, well, they can look. Lol

Odd world we live in.



Doesn't help that I'm completely unphotogenic, and have had the uncanny ability to ruin photos since I was 5. :D
I even ruined a school photo once. With 60 other pupils in it.
