Horizons Why do the Devs hate the player base?

I dont blame the Devs for all of those little bugs, it can happen and we all humans. :)
Even if the payout for missions and passenger missions are very low, there are ways to earn money.
Just adapt and try to deal with it, less income is actually an improvement......you need to play different and take care of yourself not to loose your ship or damage it, simply you need to play more efficient.

Now its really hard working for some little ship upgrades......the question is, what is your personal goal? What you want to achieve? Need a supership with all the maximum upgrades? Its like in real life, if you want the maximum you need to work for it.

I agree with the OP actually. What do the team at ED want the player base to do? They nerfed smuggle missions. This seemed liked a thinly veiled attempt at pushing everyone towards passenger missions. So I took the bait and started ferrying those pesky ppl around and was making some good money again. Then today I was VERY pleased to see a patch update for all the bugs. The list was EXTENSIVE to say the least. Which it needed to be. But then I went and looked at the passenger missions to now see they have been nerfed to the proverbial. What the?? If it wasn't already too hard to make money in the game...

I just wish they would settle on a good middle ground and let the game settle. Keep working on the bugs and let the game get more stable... rant over...

Please just read the info 777Driver provided, click on the link and read. It doesn't get easier than that.

Man I love people who think they are high and mighty for no reason. Do you act like a child in every instance of someone bringing up valid concerns? How exactly would he know they were aware of the issue? Most people don't wish to sift through pages of crap to find if FDev have taken notice to a certain issue. It's not OP's fault FDev is terrible at communication and balancing. I sense a lot of rage in you, maybe you should read and follow your signature before you pop your top off and reply to this with nothing but poorly worded insults.

777Driver provided a link exactly to the comment where FDEV says they are aware of the issue, that's how. Why ist that nothing 'but poorly worded insults'?

At some point, FDev have to start playing their own game. Right now it is very clear that they don't. Every single thing that allows us to progress through gated content is being slowly rolled back in order to spend more time doing nothing. The only story that passes in this game has no actual progression in game.

Time is relative to where you are, what you do, and who you are waiting for. ;)

I came here with a question. This post seemed to be a good place to start as it's in line with my problems with the game months ago. My question was answered the game is still a grindfest it appears. And the community is still as toxic as ever. Anything with a chance to be good is ruined with behavior like I have read in these forums. No thank you.

If you like the game you will find reasons to play, if you don't like nothing can be done about it.

The game is always changing, the community follows the changes and talk freely.

If you spend more time with us you will feel at home.

That link is 39 pages long. If they were going to correct it, it would make sense for them to sticky that comment to the top, and I did not see it there. I still want to know what the hell you were talking about Mardi Gras.

Just add em to your Ignore List like everyone else does. ;)

As for the nerfed missions... FD "says" they are working on it, and the current state was a mistake. But we all know how long we generally have to wait between point updates, so hopefully all this can be done server side, though you would expect if that were true, we would have already seen some evidence of changes being made?

But regardless of how long it eventually takes FD to address this in any tangible way... I think selling off your cabins in the short term and ignoring the lot of these borked passenger missions makes total sense.

Ironically, I think they "finally" fixed the last of the missing visitor beacons that prevented many of us from bothering with these even before the payouts were made insulting. But I seriously doubt anyone now is going to bother confirming that this bug that was first reported in Beta 1 is actually finally fixed.

It never ceases to amaze me how seemingly non-existent the internal testing and QA is with this game. How long did it take any one of us to see that there was a major problem with the adjusted payouts? 30 seconds? One minute tops? [rolleyes] The same could be said for a whole host of major bugs that manage to find their way into the game and are immediately identified as problems within 5 minutes of a new release, yet Frontier always seems blindsided by them.

Maybe if they appointed someone to actually sit down with the release candidate and PLAY through a list of scenarios that will touch on all new changes?

This isn't Rocket Science guys! Its what you do before you release a new version of the game to the community. At least as long as you make us wait weeks and sometimes months for these un-caught bugs to be fixed in future updates. If the turn around time was days instead of weeks, I don't think the community would mind helping if you guys can't handle the testing job alone. ;)

Everyone - stop with the insults please, calling each other Drama Queens and Idiots isn't good discussion technique :)

@OP You will find that people respond to the tone set in a post/thread. You may find a less antagonistic approach will help get your points across.
is this a joke!?! you mildly chastise the White Knight s that jump on any player that has a life and doesn't devote endless hours to space trucker love ins and then go full scale victim blaming on someone who has made a very solid point... this is possibly the nastiest forum I've ever seen; mostly mature people being total s

Well your "white knights", "has no life", "trucker love-ins" "Star Citizen will kill ED" talk isn't really that great either is it.

I mean sure we can all complain by slinging turds around, but it doesn't really help make the forum a better place.

I am of the impression that the missions are fixed or at least improved. Last night I saw the pax missions reduced and missions have been increased. I stored my cabins and put my cargo racks back on my ship and ran missions for awhile last night and did well. Today I went to Sothis and loaded up with missions from there and although not as good as I did in the past, I still made some really good credits. I went there 3 times today.

This post has made some great points. I hope someone at ED is reading this.....

I am no expert but i would assume that changes are not trivial. Not just a question of altering a couple of lines of code and everything is better again. Its pretty obvious that there is a lot of quality testing going on and stuff is only going to be released when it is robust and it works and it doesnt conflict with other parts of the game.

To think any different is patently ridiculous. But some do seem to have this mentality, bless them...
