Can anyone give me a good enough reason we are hostile towards the thargoids? I've been searching through all the core and history of human/ thargoid interactions and so far I cannot or have not (yet) found a credible reason other than they are freaky looking and we kill things we are afraid of. Apart from what they did to the gnosis, and a few attacks beforehand, but from my understanding, they are basically (or seem to be) retaliatory attacks, or now, preemptive attacks. From what I understand they are attacking us because we threw the first punch? I had my first thargoid encounter last week and it really wasn't a violent encounter, until I attacked it first. But before that, it basically all but ignored me. Aside from disabling my scanner and hardpoints, I didn't feel threatened by it's presence, quite the opposite actually, I felt as if it felt threatened by me, hence the disabling of my ship mods. So I guess my question is this: are we the bad guys? Or is there another part to the story in missing? Is there a legit reason we are hostile towards them? If they went around killing innocent humans for a "devil may care" reason then I can completely understand.
