Why does FD want me to trade to make money?

Hey Guys i have a question. :D

Why does FD want me to trade to make Money? Actually i want to do Bounty Huntig but thats by far not as profitable as trading.

I have a fully upgraded Viper and can kill anacondas with it. But at the RES there are only sidewinders cobras and Eagles and they are not worth it :(

And the Bountyhunter missions are a joke to ;( 70.000 credits for a lot of time you spend searching.

In the end trading is by far the best and most reliable Job in this game and the most boring. ;(

This sucks, sometimes i wonder if the dev's are not playing their own game...

Question:
You like fighting. You're currently- fighting. You can go on fighting. Sounds like you're enjoying the fighting, too.

Why does it matter if you make more money trading? If you can kill Anacondas, there's no need for a different ship, hence, no need for more credits.
What would it change if you'd earn 5 times the CR?

The tradeoff is its easy and thus boring.

Bounty hunting can make a lot of money, you just need to do it right. I run trade/fetch/smuggling missions from my base system, collecting all assassination/kill missions as I go along. Once I have done an hour of trading or so, or when I don't get any good trade missions, I'll switch to my Vulture and do all the hunting. Overlapping kill missions (ie 2x 'kill 5 pirates here') count one kill for both so it doesn't take long to fulfil them all. Once you cash in, though, the payout is quite nice :)

I won't lie, I think trading should be the most profitable business (aside from smuggling). It's extremely tedious so it has to have something enticing for people to do it. And in a perfect galaxy pirates need traders to make a living, and bounty hunters need pirates to make a living.

i can't hear it anymore, we live in capitalism also in elite dangerous we do!

and i want a better ship to have at least any progress or content in this game! if i do this bad payed bh it will take for ages!

Increase combat rank and reputation - you will get better missions. I've seen something like 500-800k rewards for 5-10 pirate ships. Also assassination missions are profitable, you will get ~200+k bounty in addition to mission reward if you choose right ones.
There are ways to earn lots of money fighting, it is just you having trouble finding them...

If you make getting max credits your focus, then that is all you will get. Feel free to switch to trading even if you don't enjoy if you want to be so focused on getting more credits.

Alternately, keep doing what you enjoy. There is no endgame, no win state. All biggest ship means is biggest ship, not necessarily most enjoyment.

Imagine if the devs gave you 100000000 credits. What would you do? Would you enjoy the game more or less?

Dunno if they nerfed commodities but yesterday metals in my area took a nose dive and they were by far the most profitable commodity in the game. I know the market is supposed to slink every now and then but 500Credits down in profit in the space of a few hours? Holy cow... Went from 1.1k/t to 600/t. Wasn't even that much traffic in either stations I traded from.

Just as Luponator says.
Its probably the most unsatisfying answer for you, but play for fun and not for the credits.

Since ED has no real progression (except for various ranks) and you can do whatever you like right at the beginning, Cr are just a means to an end to do the same thing with a different ship/loadout. That sounds of course bleaker as it actually is.

So just blast some ships, have fun, make some money on the way and enjoy the game :). + Bounty hunting is now much more profitable as it was back in december.

RES Sites have been hit by the Bug Stick, along with the rest of the AI spawn, bounties are reliant on kill ranking, where as CZ's they are static based on ship, so i would avoid RES sites unless you feel like popping in and out of instances every 5 minutes, and go find the Pirate hunting missions and go to a nav beacon or an RES site. Problem solved.

I agree:
- The only thing "funny" with trading is the profit, otherwise it is just driving a ugly fat ship from point A to point B. Less profit means no fun, you cannot take that away from traders.
- Traders are somewhat at the top of the profession system: traders make money >> pirates want their share >> bounty hunters too. This is a good order, as putting fighters at the top of it would basically tell traders: "you don't need to exist, everyone has guns and money".

BTW I am not a trader, I just think we need them like other professions.

Saw a bounty hunting mission offering 500k the other night. As your rank increases so does the mission opportunity!

Also trading has to be the most profitable otherwise there is no motivation to do it.
