Why does Frontier release limited edition paint jobs, and never releases them again?

I was waiting for the Golden Eagle paint job, and the Golden and Chrome Cutter paint jobs. I saw some old screenshots and videos, and those were my favorites out of all the Chromed/Golden paint jobs. I figured they'd be added to the Festive Countdown list, but it doesn't look like they're gonna be released again. They would've gotten my money if those paint jobs were added. Why does Frontier release limited edition paint jobs, and don't bring them back?

[Edit] The title was a little poorly worded. I'm wondering what the point of "limited edition" is: I would've spent more on paint jobs if they had some of the older paint jobs, like the Chromed Cutter paint job I was looking forward to buying. I totally get the seasonal sales model though: people got pretty hyped with the Midnight Black sale, and if the iridescent sale comes back again, people will get hyped for that one.

[Edit #2] I see a lot of "well, open up a dictionary and look up limited edition...duh" type responses, but for one, try searching the store for "limited edition". There are zero results, even for the Festive Countdown paint jobs. So who knows if they're technically even limited edition and aren't gonna come back? I've never seen a paint job on the store advertised as "limited edition". So there's some confusion whether or not it's a even a limited edition, or it's gonna go back to the store the next season.

Maybe they have too many paint jobs to release them all in one year, if they are to release a fixed number of paintjobs of the Chrome/Golden variety every day during the Festive Countdown?

Really?
What is the point of limited if you bring them back?

Btw, they did in the past, which caused quite a handbag swinging contest. If you pull money from a customer by selling him/her unique items, maybe they should stay unique.

Hmmm.... Could it be because they can charge more for a limited edition? And, as a company, they are driven by making money?

I understand where your’re coming from, but as far as I’m aware, Frontier never releases something on the store as “limited edition”, so it’s anyone’s guess if it’s gonna go back onto the store again.

Yes they did, starting with the flag paint jobs 4 years ago, selling them for 5 euro's a peace. They were re-introduced for less, guess how the first batch of customers reacted...

"Limited Edition" is like the word "premium". Sounds great, brings to mind high quality but it actually means nothing.
You think you're getting the cream skimmed off the top but what you're really getting is premium milk, which is the same regular milk.
You think you're getting something exclusive to boost your ego and feel smug but then they release the same thing next year.
If they were physical collectibles, this would be an outrage that would devalue them.
However, you can't resell paintjobs, they have no value so any outrage would be childish.
Still, they have to preserve the assumed value people place on having something others don't.

What is the point of this whole digital online computer experience we are having here if we bind ourselves by the restrictions of the physical world? The very concept of limited editions is ludicrous and insulting when applied to the digital space.

You want something to be upset about? All those exclusive paintjobs that you missed the sale for and will never be able to buy... are still taking up space in your hard disk because the game still needs to draw them if someone else has them.

Because people buy limited edition stuff for the exclusivity. Anything else would be communist :D
How do you tell if something is even limited edition, and isn't gonna be re-released the next year? Just assume if it's an individual paint job (not sold in a six-pack), and it's something actually worth buying, it's a limited edition?

Speaking of exclusivity, not too long ago someone said my iridescent purple Cutter was “cool”. If I knew he could eventually get the same paint job, I’d write a strongly worded letter to Frontier, demanding my money back. :D

I got my gold wire frame paint job for my Sidewinder so I'm happy. If they release it again good, if not good. I have it and I like it.

Exactly. If I see something I like, I buy it because I want it. My enjoyment of that thing isn't affected by someone else also having it.
