Why doesnt the stats page list number of discovered bodies?

Like the title says..
When you get back from an exploration trip and start selling your data, you get nice notifications for each newdiscovery, but why isnt there a number for it on the stats screen? System visited: sure... Detailes scans fine... Discovered bodies? Nope...
Come on, this has to be an easy fix?

Agreed. A dedicated exploration tab in the ship would be nice, with separate pages for where you've been, what data you're currently holding and what unique discoveries you've put your name too.
.
More information about everything is usually better. :)

What also would be nice, is to be given the privilege of naming the Earth type planets we discover.

Nice idea, buuuuut... Apparently we can't be trusted with naming our own ships, let alone planets! Do you want to have your immersion broken by "KiLLiMcD34thWorld"? ;)
.
Also, it might rile some of those folks who paid £750+ to name worlds as part of the Kickstarter.

Would love to have an individual 'Discovery Database' listing all the items FalconFly suggests.

In addition:

TOTAL NUMBER OF SYSTEMS
(broken into three claim types)

'EXCLUSIVE' (you scanned all bodies + have taken the sole discovery credit).
'SHARED' (another Commander or Commanders has/have been credited for 1 or more bodies in the system).
'PART' (some bodies remain unclaimed).

TOP 5 BODIES
Listed in order of discovery bonus. Details the body's name and system located, body type (inc. ring info if applicable) and discovery bonus paid.

TOP 5 SYSTEMS
Also listed in order of discovery bonus. Lists number of stars, planets (broken into terrestrial and gas giants) and belts, plus bonus paid. I the case of a shared claim, the number of bodies taken by others are displayed in a darker colour to the side or below of the PC's numbers.

When I began exploring I kept a highly detailed log + though extremely nerdy it was very satisfying checking the stats, seeing which body types you'd not yet claimed etc. But it's clear that this isn't going to be something I can keep up, unless I restrict my exploration trips to no more then 20 systems at a time and even then it'd likely result in me spending as much time logging the data as playing the game!

For an explorer though (for me at least) being able to see these stats is very important. I love the discovery tags, but we really need stats too IMO.

Finally... I'd also like to be able to login to a web page and see all this info (along with other stats etc.). This could also be incorporated into the App if/when they ever get back to it (I'm on Android so not yet tried the existing one).

Yes, the very nature of exploration is such that it appeals to certain people, but certainly not all. And I'm pretty sure that the type of players who spend all this time flying around and scanning for hours for what is essentially pocket cash would like to be "rewarded" with some good stats because I'm positive that this particular target group would appreciate it.
And because I'm sure its logged on the ED servers, its just a matter of presenting data that's already there.. so shouldn't be killing the devs too much.

Love the ideas, and i'm sure it's been asked before but i would love a breadcrumb trail,
so i could see where all my odd plot's have taken me.

Agreed, I would love more stats around exploring. Actually, I would love more stats in general.

Even things like distance travelled by your CMDR would be good to see.
