Am I missing something? They sit on the benches, which are path extras. Why not picnic tables?

I've had a few guests sit at them but its not as common as like. Making an assumption here, But I believe it has to do with the guests traits. Certain traits/groups have a higher predisposition to want to sit down VS stand up and eat. Hopefully this is addressed in a future patch and we see it happen a bit more frequently.
I've a feeling it's trait related as guests in my parks seem to use them OK (although my ones are in an area with 'shops' around them).

Do you put the seats opposite eateries and shops?
I place picnic tables now all over the park - and use them instead of normal seating - I align them to paths - so they don't take up too much walking space for the peeps - of course, the path is ten meters or more wide - for I find the guests use them all the time - more than I would have thought - so maybe try to use more picnic benches instead and see if that helps. I just uploaded a recent save for Lake Greenwood if anyone wants to check it out and tell me if the problem also happens on your end,

Also similar problem for vista points, the only ones that use it are the ones with the sight seeing trait. No one else will use them. [down]
