[INDEPENDENT] Why expand with the faction?

I keep asking myself we don't gain anything for having a system named after our faction, we don't gain absolutely any discount or advantage for having our sound time invested in expanding our faction, can anyone tell me in short and short what advantage of that?

I keep asking myself why to grind that 16th billion credits. I absolutely don't get any more gameplay options, stories, variety, additional options for having our sound time invested in grinding my credits, can anyone tell me in short and short what advantage of that?

Joking aside by obtaining BGS assets you get advantages (or factor to what assets - systems, stations, etc. you get- liabilities) in BGS, not else. Just like by gaining a favorable position in chess provides an advantage in chess, not in financial investments, metabolism or cooking.

The more systems you control, the greater opportunity for bigger variety of well paid missions from multiple systems. If you have a big squadron with a constant influx of new players, it is a great opportunity for them to get allied quicker and get better missions quicker.

Also builds the integrity of your community. It gives people purpose and the feeling of working together for a greater good.

Great motivation tool - the variety of available playstyles is awesome for including all types of players and giving them a common cause to fight for.

It's a great role playing tool as well.

The whole BGS thing for us is all the above and also it gives one a chance to engage with other players on a deeper, more satisfying level than just "pew pew!"
Add to that the new perspective of being able to write your own story within the game that leaves a tangible trail.
