Why has everything gone bright n hazy Orange

It's been playing excellently, the graphics have been awesome, but the other day everything went bright orange with a bright haze around everything that's has a light or is bright orange or yellow. Not sure if it's the graphics card or the actual game, I've tried it on every setting possible, even reinstalled the graphic drivers. Yeah, I have tried it with other games. EVE Online has a slight orange glow and haze, but not as much as elite and now it's unplayable. Do u think it's my graphics, which is an Asus 3050 RTX 8 GB.

Should I reinstall the game to see if that helps ?

kind regards

Yeah i checked and changed all my settings and tried everything, hence why I think it's my graphics card even though the PC is only around 10 months old. How do I get around the known issues.

thanks for your replay

I'll repeat what I said in the other thread. Check your bloom setting. The game is basically unplayable on anything other than max bloom.

i would try testing your gpu using furmark and see if the "donut" is normal (post a pic of it if not sure what normal is)
as you say it wasnt always tango slapped from your perspective................
run a quick test by typing dxdiag into windows start and run it does it say no problems?
i would also delete the gpuworktable.xml from your game products folder before making any in game gfx settings adj like "bloom" for any cause and effect testing

Station fog is horrible. Looks like a smoky bar. I have two machines, one with an RTX 4070, and an older machine with a 2070. My haze isn't orange, it's white. I have ultra bloom on, and haze is still enough to be really annoying in a lot of situations, making it hard or impossible to see the bad guys from across the room. I've tried a lot of different graphics settings to no avail. Just noticed this in the last several days.

@safiankrill - in a duplicate thread someone's found the solution!

Uninstall the nVidia application - not the driver.

(For the benefit of other people searching for the solution - Infuriatingly this is now called the "nVidia App" the artist formerly known as "nVidia GeForce" )

i usually only ever install the driver not the bloatwere they peddle with it..............
the optimizations they make can make things alot worse
strange it changed the gfx mid use and did not inform the user (we have a recommended setting would you like it applied?)

I use this app since forever and it never changed anything without me doing it on purpose.

Or accidentally ticking "Optimise all games automatically" box ;)

I refuse to install NVIDIA software beyond the drivers, the legacy control panel, and PhysX for older games that still need it. When they finally discontinue the legacy control panel (which won't be such a bad thing because they moved even that to UWP several years back when they started releasing only DCH drivers and it's the only UWP app on several of my systems, meaning I'll be able to dump another chunk of Microsoft's trash OS when it's discontinued) the registry, nvidia-smi, and nvidiaProfileInspector will be my only ways of manipulating driver settings.

On a related tangent, I occasionally post stripped down driver packages in the General Discussion area of the forum.

It had a ground-up rewrite and a change of name and design so you certainly have not used the 2025 nVidia App forever.

Now you might have used nVidia Geforce Experience for years without this happening, from 2024 back ...
It's the same app more or less, you can argue semantics as long as you want.

if you want the game in no mans sky visual display mode;) running the nvidia app on elite may be your best bet
hmmmm thats given me an idea may have to install & run it on no man's sky:ROFLMAO:

I used to use it for recording x last minutes of gameplay back in a day when I wasn't aware of OBS existence.
Also, it allowed Ansel "photo mode" in games that didn't have that natively. It was pretty cool at the time!
Nowadays I think I only install it out of habit. It notifies me about driver updates at least :D
