Why I avoid wet jobs

I recently upgraded to rather good Vulture (with good high class modules) and now I can fly around in anarchies with a bit more ease.

I got two wet job missions from my home system. Previously I avoided them for potentially not being able to pull off assassinations but I felt that it is time has come to try some pure assassination action. Fact that I had to do hits in anarchy suited me perfectly.

After arriving at system I got updated what my targets are and what's their professions. So I tried to catch both of them via interdictions, but failed few times. Then I dropped in wake of one of them.

Then I realized my target leads search and rescue team. In anarchy system. I could easily take him down and his wing. And suddenly I felt like a jerk. And suddenly I realized there's good reason why I don't take on wet jobs, especially those issued by democracies.

I guess I will never be a good assassin :)

It may not be that black and white. He may lead the search and rescue team, but there's nothing to say he didn't cause the "accident" requiring search and rescue in the first place. Plus, I bet he robs the ships he's rescuing before selling the victims into slavery. Blow him to bits with a clear conscience.

Yeah but my superiors doesn't offer me such info even with all glowing reputation with them. Should I believe them?

The ones I've done have been terrorists and religious leaders, I haven't done one in an anarchy though. Get the kill & immediately jump away to pay off the bounty - the mission disables notoriety. I like the moral dilemma in the OP though :)

I generally avoid missions that cost me Credits, as I'm out here to make credits.
Sure, sure, I get it, you're paying me to snuff someone, and that's making credits, but someone else is going to have to be bribed to clear my status, and that's costing me credits. The least you can do is pay someone to pay off the local authorities ahead of time.

I do a lot more of the pirate lord ones than wetwork ones, tackling a wanted target is just easier (less hassle) but my personal rule of cool is that being an assassin is just a way cooler job title than being a mere bounty hunter ;)

I had a 'wet job' I remember quite clearly. Was a while ago, took a simple salvage mission, the standard pick up 3 artworks one. Jumped into my little Courier, jumped into the system, honked, found the USS and dropped in. Lots of floating debris and containers, finally identified the three target containers and started to scoop them up. Got the first easy, was all lined up for the second, it was only probably 50m away when there was a beep! A wing of 2 Anacondas and a FGS dropped in, apparently a little upset I was taking their precious art.

Yep that is when it turned umm wet .... scared the P out of me :D

It is the same for me.
Mission descriptions really have to convince me that a target deserves assassination.

I avoid wet jobs because of the cleaning bills.
