There is something about Power Play that keeps pulling me back when all logic says let it go.
It's partly as I love the strategy element. Nothing quite geeks me out like looking at a map with territorial overlays and plotting where to push, where to defend. It's partly that I think I actually like spreadsheets and seeing information evolve in them (There may be something I can take for this?) But today I realised it is also that it reminds my of Traveller - The Shattered Imperium.
I used to love Traveller in it various forms, but the various powers vying for control in the 'Shattered Imperium, has many parallels with Power Play. I recently re-read the fantastic 'Survival margin' which covered the collapse and the move from the Third age to the Forth. It's top stuff and again could easily be in the Elite universe.
