Why I think DB and FD have lost their way on ED

I don't get these posts complaining about Xbox getting arena first. Its like a kid who cries and cries to open his Christmas present early. You'll get it when you get it and your not entitled to get it any sooner.

A few things:

The word "entitlement"/"entitled" is used so frequently when there is no retort to valid concern/criticism.

The game was presented as an idea that people got behind with their wallets.

"Soon" is less of an answer then saying nothing at all.

And this!

I agree with you on the evolutionary process of the game as with all mmo's they evolve of time, look at WoW and EvE a decade ago to what they are today, one is better and one has gone backwards but I let you decide which.
And with star citizen it has an arena mode so why does ED need one... what I meant was they risk becoming to similar game when they should be completely different.

It won't bother me a bit if they ARE similar. My expectation is that they will be to some degree anyway, given that they both have star ships, are in space, deal with attempts to model their own universes, etc. Some similarities are inevitable.
.
Happily, the PVP element doesn't put me off any either. I PVP when it suits me, albeit that's not the draw I get from ED. It's the open universe, vast spaces, and interaction with said universe. That said, if others want to PWN themselves silly, well why not? Incidentally, the SC Arena mode is pretty limited and I Can't imagine anyone going for a steady diet of that sort of thing. IT May be useful to think of it as a feature to keep the more violence prone occupied.

+1 rep to the OP. I read somewhere on the forums where ED was described as - 1 mile wide, 1 inch deep and I suspect that it has just become 1 1/2 miles wide but it still only 1 inch deep.
.
I don't object to the Xbox release or the inclusion of CQC but I just don't see ED getting any deeper.
