Why in the 34th Century we dont have online buy and shipping?

I have a ship, i have a lot of money, i dont have time anymore. I just want to fit a loadout and fly. I dont mind to pay more for it. Twice if needed! I remember Earth citizens could buy online and receive parcels 1300 years ago. I can pick the item up too, i have my own ship after all.

Why a pilot has to search external web pages and travel to other star systems (to find it out of stock several times) looking for a weapon or system? Why, for the sake of gods, aliens and superior entities, in the 34th Century we dont have online buy and shipping/picking?

Shipping costs are already implemented in game for stuff we own. I dont know why cant buy online and receive modules in a given time, or travel there to fit them. A very easy implementation to help people in day to day and create jobs for space truckers.

Ok ok, maybe this should not be available for special, faction weapons and systems for reasons. Ships neither, ok. Engineering same as now. But let me fit full A my ship and let me enjoy it, not make me search the galaxy to do that.

Braben please... [cry]

It is because YOU are the 34th century version of a postal service.

"Source and return..."
"Deliver 34 tons of...."
"Secure message needs delivered..."

I was just thinking this for ships and modules , you could order in if they aren't available with a time limit and cost depending on distance and it could also be affected by power play regarding buying another powers ships . That way you could choose to pay more and wait or fly about looking for what you need , the shipyards could even have sales or offer discounts if you have high influence.

Then why can i order ship and module transfers?

This is not about transport stuff. Its about online buy. I would settle for buying online and picking with my ship. Not travelling as an idiot searching to complete a basic loadout (not engineered or special).

This is what happens when copyright and patents have no end dates....

as noone is allowed to use these kind of functions without paying for it, and with a free market to set what prices the like, these options will fade from general use, as the costs is to high...why do you think it costs so much for a ship transfer to Colonia?

This also explain why there are so few ship manufacturers and that all ships users the same parts and have the same HUD.

On a more serious note, I would love to have a better ingame source of knowledge. Like a personal wiki that gets filled by stuff you discover, do, collect etc, etc, The more you do better it can "predict" where to find stuff.
We also better tools to find commodities, ships, modules and weapons.

Why do we have to travel to an engineer to view blueprints? This is stuff that should go into the personal wiki.... to be viewed whenever you need to. Keep the pinned blueprint for remote use,.
I have seen quite a few players doing screenshots to save the info from engineers...

I would enjoy the ability to, for example, send a module to a distant engineer, have him engineer it to my specifications and then send it back to the station in question. Even at a considerable markup and wait time I would pay for such a service if it meant being able to get experimentals and dispose of this horrid, limiting "pinned blueprint" system.

As for finding info ingame, I also agree that fdev needs to do a MAJOR OVERHAUL on the UI. Like, ALL OF IT. Menus jumping when all we want is to LOOK at a screen, the galaxy map jumping to a system a thousand LY away because our mouse button slipped while we were rotating, the "services-hangar-launch" menu having CURSOR MEMORY if you don't leave the instance...

I mean, I like a lot of things about ED (especially the sound design, it's phenomenal,) but Fdev, please hear me on this: YOUR MENUS SUCK ALL THE STINKY THINGS. It's called Elite Dangerous, not Menu Clicker 2018. The keyboard acrobatics required to navigate these menus without a mouse is at the upper limit of ludicrousness--AND DON'T ANY ONE OF YOU FLYBOY SMARTES TELL ME TO JUST USE THE MOUSE, EITHER. I use a flight stick and there's only SO MUCH ROOM to reach around, grab a mouse, go back to the stick and takeoff without getting really exasperated.

It is because in the 21st century the financial crises caused by economies being destroyed by the overwhelming market-dominance of an evil corporation called Amazon produced a backlash, resulting in humanity-wide proscription of mail-order. ;)

Here is another thought, why don't we have rear facing weapons? Even in the 20th century, we had the ability to shoot the following targets.
