Why is everything so cumbersome?

First, I really like ED....

But sometimes it's a pain to play because it's missing many basic conveniences:
No way to note/save trading prices ingame... I printed out selfmade exel charts...
I don't want any trading tools like Sloepy's BPC (ingame). I just want a way to store the data in my ship.

Yeah I have a awesome galaxymap, but whats the point when my waypoints getting reset all the time?
And why aren't those waypoints shown in my hud? Sure I can remember some of them but if I want to travel longer distances it's annoying to look up the route all the time.

No way to mark already mined asteroids.

Why only 2 fire buttons?

No way to select the next objekt. I haven't found it in the control menu so i suppose there is no way to do it.
etc.

I agree. But actually I think it has been getting worse. Or maybe I was just stunned by awesome first impressions before. But I can't even play now because there are so many things that annoy me.

- Graphics are stuttering. Before they were fine, and I didn't change anything myself. I have exactly the same setup, but graphics performance has gone down significantly.
- Menus are slow and non-responsive. Also, the blinking effects every time I change or select an option is giving me a headache.
- My connection to servers is dropped every so often, and even though I have accepted 3-4 missions at a bulletin board and then bought some ship upgrades and then flown to an entirely new star system, all of that suddenly disappears. How many times do I have to repeat the same thing before it sticks?
- Bulletin board missions are not good. Often, you will be given a mission with 1 minute to go (i.e. impossible) and a large credit fine for non-completion. Well <snip> you too. Then, they can be out right misleading. Tonight, I accepted a mission to go to Aulin, I thought, but when I got there, the space station didn't exist. Turns out, there is an Aulis system, but my ship isn't even capable of getting to it, so I don't know how I got a mission for it in the first place.
- Seems like to do anything really fun, you need maximum upgrades for your ship, and preferably one of the more expensive ships. Why can't the Sidewinder be made usable? Why do I have to grind and grind to get to a point where I can just have fun?

Seriously, if I could decide at this point, I'd like a rollback to when we just had the small bubble around Eranin. At least then I could play and have fun. Now I just play and get annoyed.

I think i can understand you but I'm sure most of the stuff you mentioned will be fixed. My concerns are about features that
makes the life a little bit more easy.

There is a key to cycle next target/object. I believe its T and also there is a key for the nearest hostile. I use a joystiq so I don't exactly know the keyboard commands.

I could go on about the menus and ui which I loathe, but not gonna make this any longer. Playing this game for me is cumbersome and not very fun.

I detest the UI too. Turning your head, taking eyes off target to get info defeats the purpose of having a HUD in the first place.. and you have to do it so often. Why not have the menu pop up in front of you if you have to bring up a menu at all.

Also the UI stays the same from Sidewinder to Anaconda. This is what you're stuck with for your entire ED life. There is no variety, no customisation, no distinction. With no external view there's nothing to really tell your cockpit apart. Sure the struts might be different but when everything that's important stays the same it's all beige in the end.

The only thing that keeps me playing is DK2 support where I can actually look around the cockpit and see how different the ships are. Playing on my laptop with no DK2, it may as well be all the same screen.

Why do we need "a hundred" buttons to control our ship? It should be enough with speed +- and RESPONSIVE mouse steering(roll with mousewheel).

Its not 100. Its no more than any FPS you ever play.

But the turning sound, I agree, it sounds so out of place. I said that about another sound too, cant remember what, with it being a beta it was eventually changed to something awesome.

Ships are very agile, especially the smaller ones, are you sure you got your mouse the right way up :)

I kind of agree with the FLT, not a huge fan. Its where you spend most of your time too. Not sure what viable alternatives there is though. Nothing really.
