Why is it so difficult to add viable information on things?!

Man, this game.... I have to look up every snipped in the internet ! Nothing can be found in the game itself!

WHY is nowhere noted:

  • How much damage increase for "Thermal Conduit"? When? At 60% heat = 10% damage ??! At 180% heat = 30% ?!? I have several different google answers - 5 years ago!
  • Thermal shock: How much heat? Does it scale with weapon size? Does it effect npcs?! Do Npcs take heat damage ? Is the Heat still capped at 90% "bEcAuSe oF rEaSoNs" ?
  • Emmissve munitions. What is the effect? How much increase? Does it affect gimbal / turret? Does it counter chaff ? (I know it doesn't; but it was my very first thought !)

Same about the Impact grenade, or about sequence scrambler or whatever! Frontier NEVER looks back at old stuff and fixes them or GOD BEHOLD adjust some values. Why ever use torpedoes lol

So tempted to add a Bazmeson to this, but you're right. A lot of information is just missing or not obvious. That's somewhat OK, if you're an oldtimer like me with a good memory, but usually not the way to do things.

+1

Re torpedos:
to reverb-gank noobs who hide behind big prismatics in Corvettes or Cutters.

PvP is and was NEVER a balancing thing for Frontier and should never be used as an argument.

Honestly, balancing was always never a concern for Frontier in anyways. SCO FSD for example. "Oh yeah the new ships are MADE for these things hehehe that's why they are BETTER for them hehehee" aaah yes sure, ofc!

But would 10 pages of pseudo science about SCO compatibility really be of any use?
Or better?

what?

I can't follow your route of thinking! I mean: WHY is that BETTER FSD only "very good" for the new ships while the old ships get an artificial SHAKE and FUEL CONSUMPTION penalty?! The reason is obvious, isn't it?!?!?!?

Or should we expect now that any new item that will be released (maybe even the engineered cargo racks!) have penalties for the old ships??!?!

There's just ONE reason why they did this!

Thermal Conduit starts providing additional damage at 91% giving 1% additional damage per % of heat over 90, capping out at 60% and 150% heat. The heat is measured when the shot is fired, increasing heat over a threshold by performing the shot, does not change the damage of the subsequent shot nor any projectile in flight.

Thermal shock - a fair amount of heat, it is purely damage based, more damage more heat, it does affect NPCs (in that their heat increases making gimbal locks better, but), NPCs don't take heat damage (I may be wrong on this or it may have changed in recent years). The ADDED heat is capped at 90%, i.e. if your target is already at 100% heat, you can add 90% to that.

The reason IS because PvP is a thing no matter how much you like or dislike it, NPCs don't use 'all in' builds, it only became a problem when players started abusing this lack of foresight from FD and for a while it was completely stupid. Whoever had more heat canons won. Suffice it to say, don't use it for any purpose, players will actually often damage you more (see thermal conduit) if you use it on them, and NPCs don't care.

Emissive is applied to shield and hull hits and increases the sensor cross section of the object targeted. Gimbals lose lock on colder objects, the colder, the more trouble they have, 1 bullet of emissive makes a completely 0% heat ship 100% targetable. In any multicannon or gimballed laser heavy loadout, emissive should be in there as it will keep the gimbals locking fully on the targets.

Also, chill out bro, we like that this game isn't for everyone. ;)
