My main system drive and my Game drive are Sata3 SSD. My CPU is i5 4670k running at 4ghz. My Ram is Dual channel at 2400 mhz with aggressive timings (stable under load), My Motherboard is one of those expensive "gaming" line MSI boards. My GPU is a GTX970 (I know, not top of the line but "enthusiast"). So here's the thing... It never used to run this poorly.
I played some last night for the first time in about 3 Months or so. Still using the same 0.6.0.1 run-time I always have, only difference between now and before is I upgraded video card from GTX 770 to 970. For some reason I'm getting (and I don't know if this is what you all describe as "judder") what appears to be like drunken double vision when moving my head inside space stations or when I'm in hyper-drive inside of a system. I can see elements of my hud and of the game world as 2 distinct lines or geometry objects when I move my head. When I stop moving my head, they re-group into a cohesive whole.
I tried reducing my visual settings (although I never changed them from my "old" settings) to basically Medium everything, 1080p, super-sampling on lowest (.65 I think?) and smaa. The game runs smooth ONLY when super-sampling is as low as possible, unfortunately the game looks like complete garbage without super sampling and I don't get it, because It NEVER looked this bad on my old hardware...
I'm running windows 7, Nvidia driver version 358.50. I don't understand how or why it is running so bad with Super-sampling on any setting above minimum. I should also clarify my computer and video card run VERY cool, the CPU is liquid cooled and the GPU itself is a non-overclocked MSI Twin Frozr which has a beefy air-cooling solution. They are stable under load and don't experience any thermal throttling under load.
I guess I'm just complaining... I haven't tried setting graphics to low and then upping super-sampling, I suppose I can try that tonight and report back, I'm just disappointed after so many months away.
EDIT: I should mention, this is all regarding running on DK2 w/ runtime 0.6.0.1
