Why is PVP interdiction evasion so unbalanced

I too have had many interdictions where i kept in the blue zone and filled the blue bar but got interdicted anyway, only when being interdicted by players

I think its a connection related issue where the player ships are out of sync causing both player to experience the event slightly different or something

I think this type of thinking is what cause the mass PVE exodus.

They'll exodus at the first sign of player opposition anyway, but that should not dictate development (PvP mechanics should be balanced to suit the players who actually want to do it, not easily agitated mobian-types who will probably be in a private group anyway).

FDev already took things too far when they buffed the T7's yaw to ridiculous levels... I challenge anyone to try interdicting a player in one of those to see what I mean.

I generally win interdictions.. either as the interdictor or the interdictee.. I'm not sure if it's the speed of my connection or the fact that I always use a decent gaming mouse (for normal flying I use a HOTAS) and I'm very good at staying on the target. Mouse is definitely superior when playing the mini-game.

Totally agree. I posted this fact over a year ago that the controller input makes a huge difference. FDev are designing for gamepads with binary/digital type controls. And the interdiction game shows this very well: if you use a mouse (or gamepad) you'll likely win as the response is practically instant. It's easy to stay in the bullseye. Use a joystick and you'll more than likely lose to a mouse player every time; the joystick input and response is lagging likely due to how FDev are dealing with input devices.

Test it - try a joystick then try a mouse when interdicting - and you'll see just how different they are.

I actually have several suggestions on how lagy instances can be addressed. However Frontier has never responded positively to my posts about opening the option to buy a life long licenses for players that makes great suggestions they implement, or otherwise help the universe. So im going to hold my tongue. The question i do want to ask is connection throttling an issue to the point that its being abused? I have the fastest consumer internet you can get in south Florida so IDK why i would ever have an issue there.

Life long licenses? If you mean LTE than they had it for sale numerous times for everyone...

I've been interdicted twice by players since 2.2, and managed to evade it both times. It could be a number of factors: maybe it's latency, maybe you need more practice.

I suggest you grab a friend and practice evading interdictions, practice makes the master after all.

I find dropping the throttle to just above zero (not submitting) greatly improves keeping on the target reticle whether in a Sidewinder or a Cutter. Maybe the interdictor also does this.

I actually have a lot easier time interdicting other players when I tap throttle 0% after starting the interdiction. Seems to slow us both down to a snails pace even if the other player tries to go faster.

In PvP, the rule is 'always submit' and then sort it out afterwards. Turn around, boost with F/A off in the opposite direction and then hiwake. Or that's how I do PP in Open at least, and one certain Mamba just chain interdicted my Python in Nanomam about 10 times and never won.

O7,
🙃
