Something that has always been bothering me is how in almost every space situation, It would make sense to have just open channels one can connect to in order to communicate with those around them (for mayday signals and such). I know we already have text chat, but I feel it could add more immersion if we were able to pop out of supercruise, and join the local voice comms via the comms window. I know it is a niche request, but I feel it would really add to the game. No one would _have_ to be connected (like the local text comms) but it would be a frequency you would have to sync up to. Right now the main issue is no one wants to accept a voice comms request, and it feels creepy to request everyone in an area before moving on. Having it be a joinable thing would greatly improve the social aspect of the game, making it feel like I'm exporing the galaxy with other pilots rather than drifting through space with a cell phone in my hand. I dunno, just the idea of popping into a local area and joining the local comms radio in order to make new allies or coordinate with people (yes I know you can do that in text chat, but it isn't as immersive). For instance, "Imagine flying within couple of kilometers of Cleve Hub in Eravate, where newbies are floating about, and a wing of larger fighters and freighters pop in, saying "This is the 8492nd Squadron of Adle's Armada, requesting docking". If players could create ambience themselves this way, it'd be awesome."- CMDR Hagglebeard, 14/12/2015, 4:38 PM.
Just think on how cool that would be.
Any thoughts?[up][down]
