Why isn't the commodities screen curved in VR

The other screens are, but not the commodities screen. For conformity, and to make things look generally better, FD, can you cure the commodities screen?

Thanks much

Appreciate I am in the minority, I wish they would provide an option to revert all the screens back to being flat. The curve is very poorly done in VR.

I can understand that and an option would be good for those that don't want a curved screen.

Is it because you prefer flat or is the curved screen blurred or hard to read, if so are you using Oculus or Vive (I am using a Vive)?

Using the CV1 with a blue HUD. The curved screens are perfectly readable, I've just always preferred the flat screen.

Just had another look, I guess it is because the flat screen on commodities is further away & Slightly larger, all the screens used to be like that. Also the curved screen is not properly curved, you can see the joints.

Anyway, I know for sure I am in the minority :)

It's been reported (and acknowledged) a few times, as far back as the DK2, guess it's fairly low down on the list of things to be fixed - a shame as I found it very jarring.

I prefer the curved panels too. Especially since I can reach over and use the mouse with the curved screens just fine, but it misbehaves on the flat commodities panel.

As an added anecdote on this, I have corrective lenses from VR Lens Lab, with a fairly strong prescription. This induces some spherical distortion, which is very noticeable with the flat commodities screen, but not noticeable with the curved panels for the other screens.

The info panels on the Star Map and System Maps is just as weird being flat, almost facing away from you, maybe one day - someone will spend some time on them.

The fact that you can see the 'joins' in the curved screens really bugs me too. I raised a ticket in one of the betas to ask that they increase the mesh resolution for those screens because it's so obvious at the moment - you can even count how many horizontal smaller panels they use to make the curve (I think it's 10). I'd love for then to use tessellation for those screens so they appear totally curved, but I think there's probably a limitation in the renderer of the HUD which means that can't be done. Before anyone jumps in, I know the game uses tessellation in other areas, but the HUD is rendered using a different part of the engine than the rest of the game (which is why if you change the HUD colour in the config file it only affects the HUD and nothing else)

Please Frontier, do away with the flat screens in VR and give us a much higher resolution mesh for the curves! :D
