Powerplay Why it is good to live in Archon's space: Seeking good convoys, insane profit!

EDIT: Please do not merge this thread with an existing one. Thanks!

Hi Commanders,

You may have read a few of my posts and noticed that I'm trying to give good press of the most badass guy of the Galaxy. Well, for once, let me give you some facts.

I believe you have all heard about imperial slaves (AKA "iSlaves") smuggled to our controlled system black markets at 4400cr/T profit, right?

And you know that our controlled systems offer huge supplies of narcotics, at very good price?
But do you know that "Seeking Goods" convoys spawn regularly at our controlled systems?
Then, here is what happens:

For those who don't know, these convoys buy your narcotics at the highest price...
- Buy narcotics at the main station.
- Take off, and supercruise for 5 seconds to the nearest convoy.
- Drop there and fly close to one of the T9s.
- They will beam your narcotics and transfer money to your account.
- Go back to the station, rinse, repeat.

No risk to get scanned, no jump, no landing required, the whole trip takes 5 minutes, 2055cr/T profit, almost 10 millions per hour with a 400T Anaconda, 12.5 millions with a 500T T9!

Hmmm. interesting...

Also, how do we find those convoys?
Is there any risk they don't spawn and leave us with 400T opf narcotics we don't know what to do with?
How do we make contact? Just jettison (and abandon?) the cargo next to it? How far?
...

Thnx,
CMDR RedBomber

I have tried to understand the spawning mechanism for these convoys, but either there is something I am missing or it is erratic.
The system from my screenshots has the main faction in lockdown.
However last week, one of our system, with only one station, had also the main faction in lockdown, but no convoys ever shown up there...

The best is to spot them while we fortify our controlled systems, then we let the members of the Kumo Crew know about it. :)

Oh and, no need to jettison/abandon your cargo, they use an advanced technology to teleport (AKA "beam") your canisters from your cargo racks to theirs. All you have to do is fly near one of the T9 and 5 seconds later you are done!

Only one million credits profit? Well, for just trucking it seems not bad I guess.
It's even faster than the regular trucking since:
- No need to jump, you sell the narcotics right next to the station you purchase them!
- No need to land, you just fly near one of the T9s!
- No risk to get scanned (not that I care, I am Kumo Crew rank 5 and immune to fines and bounties anyway...)

1 million in 5 minutes, time is money.

The one thing people should be aware of is that while this indeed very profitable it does not count towards your trading rank. Of course if you don't care about your rank and just need some quick cash go nuts :)

Are you sure? Source?
Since 1.3, smuggling counts toward your Trading rank.

And yep, I don't care about reaching Elite, though I may get there eventually.

I'm sure, check your trading stats they don't change after selling to 'Selling Goods'. Smuggling does indeed count but you're not smuggling, the Narcotics are legal.

Ah, looks like the old "seeking luxuries" scenario is back in a new incarnation. Supply of Narcotics doesn't look very high from your screen cap, so it wouldn't surprise me if the profits dry up once more commanders are hitting the market. The whole reason "seeking luxuries" worked was that the station had an infinitely replenishing supply right next to the instances with the T9s. Once FD fixed the supply, the profits and the traders moved on. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. With the Delaine bonus I guess it has a shot. ;)

No worry, Archon's controlled systems offer an increase in narcotics production and I am yet to see the supply dry up (maybe at Harma?) and the prices I have seen so far are between 8300 and 8800cr.
Even at 8800, the profit would be insane taking into account it's a 5 minutes journey at no risk.

The convoys would leave by the time the supplies would dry out...

EDIT: Oh damn, you're right. Have just checked and the supply is around 5000T only, sold at 9376cr. Might be worth checking in the coming days though. My bad, I will keep this restricted next time I find some of these convoys at our controlled narcotics systems.

I believe you on this and will let the others confirm since I have no need for money (rank 5) and have some important Power Play stuff to do :)

50 million credits for Rank 5 is 5-6 hours decent trading in an Anaconda, a nice perk but not a huge amount. It does free up your time for Powerplay though :)

Well, I prefer to spend 5-6 hours undermining, fighting for an expansion and hauling my allotments (I can hopefully collect them regularly from work). If you do it right, it does not even feel like a grind. :)

Now I know that some don't care about Power Play and like trucking.

Haven't tied Powerplay myself, but i can see the appeal for people, it gives people a goal to work towards. Though from reading people complaining about it, it appears it could be doing with some tweaks, then again you're never gonna please everyone :)

A LOT of simple tweaks could improve Power Play so much indeed...also some major bugs, impacting the balance between Powers, should be resolved, but oh well, that's all we got for now anyway...

+1 for a well deserved post. Personally i have limited play time and i am always strapped for cash. My main income is from rank 4 power play, trading is too boring, but this one seems very good for me. Ok i don't have a conda or T9, but i can use my clipper retrofited for light trade.

Thanks!

Mind that the supply has drastically dropped at Thagard Terminal...it is now at 50T only and narcotics are sold around 9500, so not that much of a profit (around 1000cr/T).
Either a lot of commanders have seen my post and came to deplete the supply, or the Kumo Crew is fortifying the system and depleting the stock while waiting for the timer to tick.

Hello Geoffrey

Seeking Goods and Seeking Weapons is hot stuff in Antal space too.

seekingg.jpg

Have you been keeping an eye on what faction they are from and if they are one of the faction at civil war or lockdown?

Yup best prices by far :)

I'm still trying to work out the correlation between the spawning of the seeking goods and system states / governments. Have you had much luck?
