Why no books in the online store?

Iskariot, do you mean books published by Gollancz or Fantastic Books Publishing? If it is the latter buy them directly in their store here:

Fantastic Books Publishing

I tried to buy books at Fantastic Books Publishing (edited my post) as that is what your question was about.
I am not going to pay 5 pounds for shipping epub books.

Their loss. I would have bought every Elite book they had if they turned out to be DRM free.

I went to check Mostly Harmless on Kickstarter, book I pledged for. It's DRM free and it has been delivered through Fantastic Book Publishing. I can only assume if you buy at least this one you'll get it without DRM. Would they have two separate versions? Hmm...

Also, strange they charge extra for e-books shipping. I ordered physical copies and delivery was free but I live in the UK so probably that's why.

£5 shipping? surly that's a mistake! remember you can order the paperbacks on there as well, maybe you selected the wrong item?

try again and if the same happens pop off an email to them, i'm sure they'll want to get that fixed asap if that's the case.

It has to be a mistake, I agree. I'd send him an email and asked.

It is an error in the shop system. It is good that you've reported it.

There have been similar problems to other countries before and they have been fixed - not sure why they keep cropping up, though.

I did not make a mistake. I checked several times because I refused to believe it :).
I have already sent an email. I will report back when I get an answer.

I didn't mean like it was yours, it has to be a problem in their store's website.

Nearly finished Elite: Wanted by Gavin Deas. A very good read. The book fuels my lust for playing ED.

No reaction yet from Fantastic Books Publishing.

They must be busy organizing Fantasticon, usually their reply is lightning fast ;)

Today I tried buying 4 Elite ebooks via the Fantastic Books Publishing website again, several times.
When I check out the connection is reset.

I give up. They don't want me to read these books.

Just thought it was fair to say that everything with Fantastic Books Publishing got sorted out.

I was able to order 5 books without having to pay for shipping and got them via mail.
For others: If you order ebook versions do not fill in your home address in the form that is presented to you, because that results in an automatic charge for shipping, even if that is unnecessary. Only fill in your email address.

The books are completely DRM free, which is superb.

Well, once Michael has written the sequel to "The Dark Wheel" no doubt they will put it on their site ... however (and this is being asked as a genuine question and not a swipe at the authors) why should FD offer the others in the shop ?

Other than the tie in they were not written nor printed by FD. I appreciate that putting them up for sale will help the authors but what does FD get out of it if they are in competition with Michaels (FD) book ?

They get a percentage of the money paid for the book just like every other shop that sale books. At Amazon that 30% of the price.

how about fulfilling the terms of the writers pack?
The writer’s pack: The right to write one piece of written fiction set in the Elite: Dangerous world, and (subject to reasonable approval of the content) release it commercially, without paying Frontier further royalties, independently of the game. This category includes all the rewards above. Frontier will cooperate to allow the system name, commander name, planet name, planet description, space station names to be positioned and used in a way to support the fiction within the game. Frontier will also help publicise your title at the time of release of “Elite: Dangerous”, as long as it is finished at that point, alongside the official sequel to “The Dark Wheel”.
from the kickstarter (emphasis mine):

Elite hasn't been release yet.
