Why no love for the orca?

Having just bought one, there are at least four good reasons to own an Orca :

1) the bridge is awesome (Especially in VR),
2) as others have said, it play the "Fasten your Seatbelt bell when boosting (included in the default price too! I'm sure it would cost extra on the i-Clipper)
3) it looks fantastic. So shiny and those classic lines like luxus yacht from the 21st century ... just wow!
4) it's quite exclusive. Who wants a FdL? Everybody got one. Being an Orca owner, on the other hand, propulse you to the less-than-one-percent-club!

Sure...There is nothing it is actually good for, but it is bad at everything with style.

I hope passenger missions include things like guided tours. So you can be hired to shuttle people around to certain places while a voice playes over the coms telling people interesting facts about said locations...

Any excuse for a pic of my Expl'orca [big grin]

Deciding between this one or a Sidey for my next SagA trip...

RESPECT. they so much cooler i don't know why people don't like them.

I have got a Windows Phone AND a Vauxhall Insignia!

But the Orca... it´s pretty in a certain way, but now utterly useless and it flys like a sick brick.

I like to see it, but even I don´t want one.

Maybe there is a great future for it (I love the X3 Passenger Missions, remember?), but we don´t know.

So maybe Frontier should give the Orca to Star Citizen!

They know exactly what to do with useless ships with problematic flightmodels and uncertain future.

Roberts will put a price tag on it (150 Bucks?).

Problem solved

I'm outfitting an Orca for the new onionhead CG...purely build for speed, and with the best possible protection.
Smuggling stuff in style! :D

I am somewhat of a ship collector, I could own all the ships now cept the Cutter and Corvette, cause don't have the rank yet. But before I add a ship to the garage, I have to have a specific role for it. My Orcas role is a mid range explorer ship. It handles decent enough in super cruise, picks up speed, looks good landing on planets. If I wanna do deep exploration I go for the Jumpaconda, which is a real slug handling in S Cruise or normal space, forget bout landing on planets.

Is it really all that toothless? It had 2 medium hardpoints, and 1 large hardpoint. Though the wiki doesn't say where those hardpoints are located.

2xC2 1xC3 is exactly the same weapons fit as the DBX, a ship that costs 20x less credits to purchase.

For how much the Orca costs to outfit you can buy a Python or FDL. For less, you can get a FAS, Vulture, Asp or IClipper. All of which are vastly superior in combat through better firepower and agility. The Orca is fast, but that's all it really has going for it in combat. Pretty much any multirole or trade ship is a more economical trader. The jump range is mediocre so it's not a good explorer.

The Orca is currently the Hipster ship of choice.

I hope this is really true!!!
That would explain the fins =)
I currently have an Orca and flew it to Maia for some exploring in style. I love the ship. It's thrusters are soon responsive in surface flight. I just love its control for its size.
