Players used to complain about how Galnet articles had no impact on the universe. They have a point; by having more fluff than solid news, it degrades the impact of the real news stories.
But that doesn't mean the fluff didn't have a place, giving us access to less-relevant aspects of the galaxy.
Why not have a second channel dedicated to lighter materials, things that aren't directly related to stuff actually happening right now, but which convey a taste of reality in the 3300's?
The Intergalactic Inquirer or something similar. "I was a love slave of Aisling Duval!" "Is Zachary Hudson a Thargoid?" "Weapons cartels inflate firearm prices for Pilots Federation pilots by 40000%!".
You know, silly ridiculous stuff like that, with the occasional real story mixed in.
It'd give us some fun stuff to read along long SC voyages!
