Why not only "Open Game" Mode?

Hi frontier and community,

i have an question that maybe is too an suggestion/inspiration?!
Can you tell me whats the reason why you have implemented 3 different game mods -> Open -> Private -> Solo
instead of implementing only an Open Game mode but with 2 diffentent instances -> PVP and PVE?

I think much about this and it could be very interesting to only have an open game mode
and i can switch between PVP and PVE mode only every 15minuts, so nobody can use INI hopping ^^ :)

I'm looking forward to the reactions and answers :)

Best regards

addendum:
PVP = player can be killed by player
PVE = payer CANT be killed by another player

Interesting idea. But what is if there are enough people (including myself) that dont like to play with antisocial/psychopathic people?
And is it not an cool thing if social people play with social people while antisocial people play with antisocial people? :)

single player was promissed, so they added it. they gave group mode so players could police their own server.
If fd had a OPEN pve mode they would have to admin it and ban people from that game mode for killing others.
the way it is now. The group owner gets to remove them..
The main group for pve is called mobius. It is the best solution unless you want to end up looking at a subscription based service.

Ok, this was an info what has not reached myself until this time, so please sorry.
Now i have read too another threads in this and another forum and have detected some additional
informatiosn like the kickstarter anouncements for example. So now i have understand the idea of
frontiert and can comprehend some of the decicions from FD. Ok, so if FD says ini-hopping is an part
of the game everybody can use it, and everybody can play the game how he like it, there is no admins
or moderators that have to warn or ban some player. This makes much more easy, especially for the programming.

So after this infos i can go conform with the FD concept, and for me this thread can be closed ^^ :)
Thanks for the Info's

BTW maybe some people should thake a look at this thread --> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=229661&p=3518110&viewfull=1#post3518110

The fact that a player's actions in solo mode can affect the background simulation/powerplay balance/factions and minor factions standings for players in open makes no sense. If you want to undermine a system controlled by my faction I don't see why I should be unable to stop you from doing it just because you play in solo. Furthermore I personally find open to be so much more fun. I have never played in solo or group and must say that interactions with other CMDSs (be they peaceful or violent) are always the highlight of my sessions, even when it means getting destroyed.

I honestly think why I burn out on this game after 2-4 weeks is because it is optional to be online. It could have been deeper, but it's not. Since I have the easy option for solo, I will choose this and without realizing it, I will get bored sooner. Elite is also the type of game that has amazing gameplay, but a lack of depth and immersion. That probably doesn't help my entertainment.

Either way players have had the choice of different instances for too long. If you give a dog a treat and then take it away, you will upset it far more than if you never gave it a treat to begin with.
