Why PP is no fun

Because it is all about fighting your own power due to:

- merit grinders farming the same system (like fortifying a system over 100% or expanding a useless system) with no interest about the consequences
- idiots with big pockets who have no clue about the PP mechanics and who will prepare/expand useless systems
etc.

Till we have a way to communicate ingame like a power-wide channel (seriously is no one at FD ashame that we have to use external means like Reddit to coordinate in hope that we touch as many people as possible?) and a veto system (if a few people decide to expand a system while the majority is against it, the expansion is purely and simply cancelled) until then knocking your head against a wall will be more fun than what we have.

i think we just need to give it some time, right now its the flavor of the month, but it was designed to be more of a side occupation.
eventually i think mostly just us who are serious about playing PP will be left playing it, there will be more expansions along the line and the FOM people will move on to other things.

They could have had navy rank effect it in some way, why is there no real use for the navy

i think they are reserving the navy ranks for some other expansion they are working on.
personally i believe they will release some kind of navy expansion when the thargoids starts to invade.

edit: why do i suspect that? FD never bothered to give naval ranks to the alliance, and according to the backstory the alliance are in bed whit the thargoids.

Yes all good points.
PP is a fight among your own Powers pledged players, to see which power can work together the best. Hard to do without a channel of communication though.
There is very little direct opposition with the other Powers

I just see it as a side game to the main. I guess the crazy effects on trading and such are a bit wack, but wack is good sometimes. I tried pledging a few times (lol) but kept abandoning it when I realized I wasn't doing anything with it. It's a useless feature to me.
