Powerplay Why should I try out Power-play?

Ok, so that question isn't meant to be aggressive, ironic or whatever.
I'm curious about the role of Power Play in this game, and why I should give it a try, what does it bring? What could it bring for my game where I mostly play as a freighter for "Banana Express" in my Yellow Anaconda called "Bananaconda"

I'd say it gives the game a deeper meaning if you are into unofficial power struggles and real politik. It's a whole lot more fun to do with a group than alone.
