Why So many Salvage Missions ?

I like doing missions for the Federation its just how I prefer to play ED, but with the recent updates all I get with my Python is Salvage missions, there seems to be no variation any more to the point where i'm getting bored with ED, I have been active from day one but I'm now looking for other games to play. I keep reading the Mission Board gets some attention in each update but most of mine are Salvage or Kill missions.

Please look at making them more varied with better rewards or after supporting this game from the beginning I'm gone.

Funny, because I've gotten very few salvage missions and loads of Special Ops missions. It's just pseudo-random, because computers can't really generate random numbers.

in b4 can I haz your stuf?

What system is this in, and what state and type is the system in? I generally have a hard time finding salvage missions, but if you've found the secret to finding them then please give us details!!!!!

The issue I suspect is with how missions tie in with the BGS. It would seem that right now the factions in your chosen system(s) want salvage or massacre / assassination missions. When the BGS state changes, so will the missions.

Regarding rewards, a lot of players complain that rewards are poor, again, I suspect that there is a tie in with not only reputation, but also BGS. Personally, I think if missions were a bit more engaging, then the constant complaints about rewards might subside. It's not after all a job, we should be playing the game for fun. :) I do understand that players want to progress to bigger ships, and need credits for that, but again, I suspect if mission availability was more varied and perhaps even plentiful, people wouldn't mind playing the game so much.

The tie in to the BGS is IMHO a bit limiting with regards gameplay. I suspect quite a few players set up with a home base, perhaps have a number of ships there, and when the BGS dries up the missions they are interested in that can be frustrating. I'd prefer to see a concession to gameplay here, and still have a decent spread of mission types regardless of the BGS states, but then I'm just a player too, so it's not up to me... :D

Sometimes you have to go someplace else for new things.

But it would be nice to understand how mission spawning works.
I'm at a station that houses 9 or so factions, approx half have no superpower allegiance. Boom state.
There is always one or two factions that are only mining missions, usually they're non superpower factions.
One or two are 90% kill missions, the rest have a variety of missions.

Aww, I love Salvage Missions. :(

I keep getting blasted "liberate" missions, when my target drops 472t of Biowaste before dropping just 5 out the 6 of what I need, before exploding.

Or deliver X commodity to Y system, for very little money, or rep.

In the Wyrd system, I have been shipping beer, wine, and booze out of vonarburg to nearby systems ranging from 100k for a few tons (like 3 or 4), all the way up to 500k for 44 tons. In my python, I can get a bunch of them going to similar places. Earned 9 mill or so in a relatively short period of time. Also had some nice planetary scan missions (love getting mats off of those). I am content with the mission board now that colonia missions aren't everywhere (don't want to fly that far).

As far as Planetary missions go, I've basically only gotten Delivery missions since 2.3 came out 6 months ago. Doesn't matter what location, what faction, what BGS state, etc. The few non-delivery missions (involving planets) usually involve a faction that's not aligned with the Empire or Federation, meaning doing missions for them is basically pointless.

(And since I'm mainly interested in planet-based missions, aka a core part of Horizons, ED has been a waste of money. FDev you suck.)

Done some of those too ... delivered a bunch of beer and wine to a station from Wyrd, and on the station mission board where I delivered all the booze they were asking for tons of landmines and some other weapons ... what could go wrong! :D
