In the 1.1 beta I actually tried a Python with full load of beam turrets. It was kinda awesome and I wish I could see how the ship looks from outside. in one moment I took down three Eagles at once in about fifteen seconds. :D
I got bored really quickly though, with my work as a pilot being just to keep all targets above and below me.

Here's a hint:

Ooohh that's a huge capital ship, what firepower! Reducing that Anaconda to atoms in 40 sec. I wonder if I can stay under its shadows and get some protection from its guns *wink wink

Note: Best done in Python & Anaconda

I've been running 2 class 1 turreted beams set to fire at will on my cobra - I just cruise near the capital ship - I love it and it has significantly increased my earnings as they seem to target smaller ships while I am fighting the bigger ones with my medium gimballed beam.
I don't use shield cells or chaff - and just boost away to recharge if my shields go down.
I haven't noticed an increase in ships targeting me - and i generally just hang around til I've earned a few mil and then cash in.
Am loving it.
