Why the different elevator shafts?

Why is it that we have different elevator shafts for our ships/teams, Apex and Frontline?

The shafts by itself have another selection popup, so why are there different shafts in the first place?
Wouldn't it be sufficient to use the "normal" shafts and chose "ship" "Apex" or "Frontline" as applicable?

The different shafts make no sense 🤷‍♂️

Supposedly to keep things nicely separate in busy stations (I know) and it'd be a bit of a cluttered UI element if we could choose between Apex, FS, Our ship, team mates ships. I quite like the way it's set up. If only the four lifts actually lead to four seats on a single ship at the other end...

This thread gets points for originality.

Most people are complaining about getting the shaft with this game. This thread says that FDev can give you a certain quantity of the shaft but not too much.

Thank you for your flexibility with the shaft. 😆

More Shaft!

I suspect it was to fill up/use space that was initially intended for other assets that didnt get completed. I also like to believe the Bartender at one point was meant to… you know…. Tend the bar.

Im still surpsied we don't board the ships directly from the lifts.
So lifts that take you magically straight to your cockpit? How would that work? Are the lifts connected to our ships in some way?

That's just a lazy way of walking a short distance into the hanger then to your ship, where you then (even more magically) beam into your ship.

I hope Fdev never implement 'lazy man' short cuts like this.
I want my immurrzion.....
