Why there aren't many glass items?

Do you think there's a reason why there aren't many items made out of glass in the game? It's a thing that many people have wanted since the day the game came out and Frontier haven't mentioned it at all. I was wondering if they're working on it, or if it somehow affects the game's performance and they don't want to talk about it.
Sorry for my English.

Just think about the magical things we can do with glass!

And with some lightning, we can make the glass look like ice:

I wasn't sure if I need to post it on suggestions or general discussion. Sorry if it's not the right place!

Hello! It has been answered before in a livestream that it is for performance reasons, though some items have been added since, so I don't know whether they found a workaround, or they are limiting the amount they add.

But that would be total ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎, they can put 1 glass object in the game and i can use that one 1000 times, so i see no reason to not add any more?!
And i cant imagine that glass peaces will cost much performance, the ones in the game dont eighter... The game has so many unfinished sides...

Well it was stated that true transparent glass did cause performance issues, which is why they hadn't added many at the time of the stream (several months ago). Yes you could add 1000s of the same which could cause an issue, which is why I was stating that maybe they overcame it now more have been added? People are far more likely to use 1000s of glass items if they are different and of course I don't know the full details. It is often difficult to know what will and won't be easy or cost performance in development.

The new DLC packs have transparent windows in them. There are 2 different windows (one in the munsters, and one in Kitt) this is not cool for frontier to throw a single transparent window into a DLC pack when it is a highly requested scenery object

This is the exact reason why I wont support this kind of microtransaction DLC. for every person who uses that one single window in a park, I wont be able to access the blueprint because I dont care for the 3 Car Packs of DLC... the workshop should not be getting effected by DLC in such a restricted way. DLC should not be for small scenery packs it should be for large gameplay content

(just realized how old this thread was... lol)

Except that's not at all how it works....

Any items on the Steam Workshop that feature paid content items will be marked with a special tag; if you own the same content items as the Workshop item, you’ll be able to place and interact with that blueprint as you would normally. If you do not own the same content items, you can still subscribe to that blueprint, but you will not be able to place it in your park – it will give an ‘obstructed’ notification as well as a warning that the item you’ve selected included DLC content.

The same happens with entire parks that contain additional content; upon opening the park, you will get an in-game notification that tells you this park contains DLC items. You can ignore the notification and fly through the park as you normally would, but any paid content will be locked for you and it won’t function within the park unless you have the correct kit purchased.

Maybe read next time you say you cant do things.

excuse me, I meant to say "access blueprints"

thank you for correcting me, my entire point still stands the same
