Why will you still not let us shift+click to select items without having to first go into multi-select?

I've given this game so much of my patience and benefit of the doubt that it will iron out weird things like this. It's 5 months later and this simple UI/UX situation is still not fixed and I'm almost speechless. It's little things like this that are making the game feel unfinished, beta, and paling in comparison to Planet Zoo. I just want the best for the game, I really do, but things like this are making me lose hope.

It's such a little thing but it makes building in Planet Zoo seamless and building in Planet Coaster 2 tedious and frustrating.

What's going on, Frontier, why haven't you fixed this? Can you tell me? Please? What is the thought process?

You have to remember that PC2 is basically a console game and consoles can not do shift + click type things.
This is so frustrating. I can't believe they're still proudly leaving the UX/UI console-first when playing on pc, and not adapting these aspects for pc like they are on Planet Coaster 1 and Planet Zoo, they're detrimental to building and making everything way less streamlined and natural.

(removed tag of the CM)- Can this be addressed please? It's a real problem with the UX/UI, has been since launch, and still not addressed 5 months in. On Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster 1 you can simply hold shift and click two separate objects without first having to go into multi-select. This needs to be fixed for building to seamless and enjoyable again. It's a little thing but having a major effect on bringing down the quality and legitimacy of the game experience.

But please please make it optional, as a PZ newbie for me it was really off putting, i can't explain you why, but as it feels wrong to you with this option. it is the same way around for others.

I think you've misunderstood, I'm talking about the ability to hold down shift and click on 2 items in order to multi-select them, this is optional by nature and requires intent to initiate since you have to hold down shift.

No, i mean the option that shift + click does besides a leftclick.

Shift is also a modifier for camera speed, so it happened i was moving around and clicking something and i ended up in multiselect. This was basically my experience for it on free cam.

I am right now accustomed to the PC2 UI and for me the PZ is horrendous, basically for the same reasons you hate on the PC2 ui, it is vaguely familiar but your hacks and tricks and everything is slightly off. And this creates an awful feeling. So i want that you can have the PZ ui in PC2 but please make it fully optional so both sides can enjoy it :)

That is an incredibly unique take and feels controversial for the sake of being controversial. Shift + clicking two things to select them both is a universal computer interface standard across all boards from file explorers, design software, video editors, 3D programs, office suite software, web browsers, etc etc, and always has been, not to mention it always has been in planet coaster and planet zoo, and should be fixed to do so in Planet Coaster 2.

What can i say?
I ended up 3 times in multiselect, where i didnt want to be in multiselect. It is fine for you, all i am asking making it optional. I totally get the function of the shift key (which i use for List markdowns and not multiselect elsewhere ;)), but shift+clicking for me on a single item should not open multiselect.

I played the game today for the first time in months and this is something I imidiately noticed.

It wasn't needed in Planet Coaster 1, but in Planet Coaster 2 first we have to go to the multi select tool. I just cant seem to get used to it. I hope it will be fixed.

I made the mistake of unhiding the posts of a certain individual of this thread for the first time in weeks and it just feels like trolling. Yes "controversial for the sake of being controversial" is a good way to describe it.

It doesn't add anything of value going against every single piece of feedback or suggestion and it has been going on for months. Really toxic.

It just doesnt make sense to me to go in every thread every suggestions and say how you don't want it and how it would be bad for you.

90% of all suggestions (like this one in this thread) given here by the fans who have been here for years and have experience with Planet Coaster 1 are great.

Yeah, i dont deal in two classes of opinions, but just a small wish, could you please step away from any personal comments directed at anybody, in this case me? I dont feel the need to argue with anyone on a personal level here. So please ignore me, keep on ignoring me and stay away from denouncing me, thank you very much.

Me too, it's one of the last UI/UX hindrances that feels really overlooked and frustrating they haven't fixed yet. It's very computer standard to shift + click two things to select them both, and they know that because it's already in place when you're inside a group!

Spot on. It really seems that every post from them is going against the unanimous flow of progress and bettering the game for the sake of it, which ends up diluting the idea and watering down the message to the devs. They then label us as "cry babies" "spitting the dummy out", it's just a trolling cycle that is damaging the enjoyment and purpose of these forums. I may have to hide them and stop responding also, which it appears most people have already done.

Yes, I too, find it a little annoying to have to click the multi-select tool or press "i" to get into multi-select mode. So yes, an option to bypass that step and simply shift click on each object I want to select would be very welcome.

What I'm finding most annoying is this isn't even like some new feature request, it's how it's always been in the other games and for some reason seems to have been simply forgotten to be programmed into this one or something, it's painful and making it all feel so clunky and unfinished 😣
