It looks as though you don't have enough money to cover the cost of the excavation.

If you do have the money but the error still shows, I would recommend saving the game and reloading it again. I recalled a bug that got me in a similar situation way back when the game launched, it might be a hiccup.

Hi @datboiii!

It's likely you either don't have enough money, or you need to research another dinosaur whose fossils appear at said dig site. Once you have both, the dig site should be available to you.
