Horizons Why would a station refuse me permission to land...

...when I returned from a successful sourcing mission assigned by people at that station. My hold is full of the commodity they sent me to find and they "cannot comply" with my docking request.

Something was off come to think of it...when I left on the mission the station was very active with ships flittering all over the area and when I returned nothing...except flight control telling me I can't land. There were no ships going in/out the mail slot...just nada! Kinda spooky you know.

If any body has any ideas please let me know.

How far from station? You have to be within 7.5km before requesting docking.

Is it a station or an Outpost?

Outposts can be full. Then you'd have to wait for someone to leave.

I made my landing request within 7.5 KM and when I was refused the third or forth time I flew to within 2 KM and still nothing. And remember I said the station (Alexandria Station in ...535) I forget the exact name of the System...looked dead. No ships, nothing.

I thought I'd been sent for illegal goods but no, then I thought maybe war had been declared or something like that and I was the wrong faction...which I could not be since I've not committed to any one outfit.

As I said it's spooky.

Maybe an NPC was taking up your landing pad, but as you approached it took off. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time between when an NPC ship leaves and the flight controller will allow you to land.

No.

All I heard was "cannot comply" when I requested landing clearance. This was not an outpost station either!

There were no ships around at all, like I entered the Twilight Zone:S

What happened? Has this ever happened before to anyone that's known?

I had a similar problem. Requested docking, took ages to process and got denied several times. It's like the server was busy. Restarting the game fixed it for me.

Yeah...I suppose a server brain fart probably would account for the absence of any ships or activity around the starport.

I had this happen in an outpost with while on my Type 6 today.

I'd ask to dock and get a docking denied reply. Waited around the medium pad and a bit later it brought up a NPC ship, i was allowed to dock after the NPC took off.

Several possible reasons for being denied clearance to dock:

You attempt to land/dock a large ship (Anaconda, Cutter) at a station that has no LARGE landing pads.
You are out of range: >7.5 km from the station. You must be inside 7.5 km before requesting docking clearance.
All the landing pads in your size are blocked. Apparently smaller ships cannot use larger landing pads.
You had a fine, it lapsed (you didn't pay it) and it has evolved into a bounty. If this happens you will usually get a warning from flight control stating "criminals do not receive clearance to dock here!" before they open up on you with the station lasers.
They just don't like your face.

I had this earlier at the Empire Federation CG.
I left the station, looooads of players, and security.
Went and got my cargo.
Came back.
Nothing in supercruise, nothing at all at the station.
But it did let me dock. When i relogged, it was all normal again. Lol

My FSD obviously malfunctioned and put me in an empty parallel universe. :p

This was Alexandria Station in LHS 535. And you're right about an alternate universe or like I mentioned before ...the Twilight Zone:S
