Why you have not yet bought a skin in the store?

I bought one for each ship I have owned plus freebies. It doesn't bother me that I only see it in the outfitting screen. Just want to look a bit different than all the other generic skinned ships.

Oh also I am not against microtransactions as long as they are for cosmetics which do not affect gameplay.

They are a potential source of income, albeit one that makes next to nothing, but still.

i just dont like micro transactions, but those are at least just a few skins, i still hope i can paint my ship in some basic colors in game without paying real money on it...

Because I'm just a poor boy, from a poor family....

In all honesty... I will wait until the rest of the ships are released and more skins are added. (Yes yes, a long wait, I know.)

Skinning should be free and able to do yourself.
while there should be a few customization options in game, I'm fine with externaly bought vanity items.
A few more options for each skin would be nice, especially ones that you could customize in game ie. change the trim color

Some decal positioning tools similar to War Thunder would be cool. You can move, scale, rotate and double sided render up to 4 decals over your current skin. It allows for quite a lot of creativity in customization while reusing the same few hundred assets.

They also have skinning competitions and submissions where the popular ones get included in the game at a later update.

I like the idea of creating your own, but it's not practical. A detailed skin for a large ship would have multi layers and use up many MB per skin. Having to sent that through the server for every player so everyone can see each others custom decorations isn't practical. Especially when you factor in peoples poor taste and infringement of copyright laws.

But more customization in the livery department would be very nice indeed.

Against micro transactions in any shape or form if I'm honest. However paying for a skin when we should be making our own takes my dislike to a whole new level.

Unless we can still do our own skins in which case my dislike goes back down to defcon3

I've bought myself a skin for a Viper. Not so sure if I'm going to use it, but it's nice to have that option + great way to support the game (seeing how polished it already is, I can't wait to see it in all its glory with FPS and planet landings added)

Because I object to how FD handled the refund situation with regards to the offline mode... They will never get another penny from me ever again :)

I don't see why you have to pay real money for a pattern per ship. I think they should sell a pattern as a pattern regardless of ship, then have in-game credits to offset the different ship sizes. There is no reason to have to buy the same pattern for multiple ships, the current state is a waste of money.

You only ever see the skin when you go into fitting screen. I never see what i invested into. Since there is no real multiplayer yet with no MMO like chat player interaction is at a minimum too so hardly anyone will ever see my skin either.
I picked up the free skins for the cobra - they are nice but i would not have paid for them.

If they keep expanding the game and it starts to turn into a real MMO with a lot of player interaction i could see myself buying a skin.
