knowing nintendo they'll insist it stars Fox McCloud before they would consider allowing it on the Wii U

The Touch screen could be awesome, indeed, but I doubt the WiiU could handle this Game decend. And even if you could make it run decent, expected sales probably would be too low to put all that effort and Time (aka Money) into a WiiU Version that runs decend.

WiiU has been a big flop for Nintendo. Third parties just aren't interested.
