wildcats?

I just love cats, especially big cats and wild cats and I'd like to see more of them in the game. I'm especially ITCHING for a Pallas Cat, but I don't hold out too much hope for them being included. BUT I could forsee perhaps the inclusion of one or two wild cats like the African or European wild cat. Theres a ton of different species of wild cat and a lot of them are endangered because they do interbreed with domestic cats a lot, I know the highland wildcat is verging on extinction due to this. I dont forsee frontier adding several different species of wildcat, and probably only one in a random pack. But I feel like it would be such a good idea to add them to highlight another form of species endangerment, domestic interbreeding. At least I think thats what its called.

If you don't know about wild cats, learning about the scottish wildcat is a great place to start and theres an awesome program dedicated to saving them. Here's an article from their website talking about basically what I just said but way more eloquently.

If these animals ever get added I will SCREAM. They're unfortunately obscure, and many people assume they're just domestic when they're also called the "highland tiger" and I'd love to see more education around wildcats, as well as understanding to purpose of keeping domestic cats indoors and fixed!

European wildcat would be one of kinda love just so that we can get another Predator for Europe cause I really like the ones from there. That's the only one I'm really keen on though, the african wildcat isn't as appealing cause we got 4 of varying sizes cats from Africa already.

I would like the European wildcat. The Scottish wildcat would be cool - it’s effectively Extinct in the Wild. However, it’s also no longer considered a subspecies…

The first wild cats I hope for Planet Zoo to have is African leopard. Then after that, my next wanted will be serval. And that's it for me.

They actually have a very high chance of coming in the next DLC, I think. Frontier loves their meme animals and including the Pallas cat fulfills that desire, especially since it can re-use a lot of the sand cat rig. It's popular with the general public and would fit in a pack alongside some wishlist animals, namely the wolverine, markhor, and takin.
we have the Queensland koala
Yes and no. The koala is another one of those stupid taxonomical messes Frontier loves to make. It's the whole species, technically, since it's Phascolarctos cinereus but then they go ahead and call it the "Queensland koala" in the Zoopedia description. This is like the dhole ("Ussuri dhole"). It's dumb. I wish they would just pick a lane.

Anyway, I'm on Team Serval and Team European Wildcat.

Why? There are still pretty nice Options left.
For Example:
  • Scottish Wildcat
  • Lowland Anoa
  • Sulawesi Crested Macaque
  • Kagu
  • Crested Gecko
Wow these options are so good! I bet a pack like this would sell like crazy, specially the Scottish wildcat which is super unique and very different from the European wildcat

Additional Options for Animal Pack:
  • Aye Aye
  • Southern Rockhopper Penguin
  • 🤔 had thought about another one but I forgot what else I wanted to put there exactly. Will edit it in when I remember what I wanted to put on the List

Planet Zoo koala wasn't given full species or subspecies name.

As I said above, it is given a subspecies name in the Zoopedia description, but it has the species-level taxonomic description (Phascolarctos cinereus). So it's both.
The “Queensland koala” isn’t a subspecies though, it’s just a population, so no subspecies name is appropriate. According to the zoopedia it’s specified as the Queensland population rather than the whole species (though, admittedly, the distribution map isn’t consistent with this), which is why I made the comment re. The Scottish wildcat.

Neither is the Scottish wildcat yet we keep getting people specifically asking for that population lol

I think another good addition for this islands pack would be the corsican mouflon and the island fox, very nice additions imo, also the Sumatran serow is cool

According to Wikipedia:

"Three subspecies are recognised: the Queensland koala (Phascolarctos cinereus adustus, Thomas 1923), the New South Wales koala (Phascolarctos cinereus cinereus, Goldfuss 1817), and the Victorian koala (Phascolarctos cinereus victor, Troughton 1935)."

They are disputed, but they are still recognised as subspecies by the scientific community.
