Will a delay in 2.1 mean a delay in 2.2? Will 2.1 get more weapons due to delay?

Title asks the two biggest questions for 2.1.

Will a delay in 2.1 have a carry-over effect on later patches this year? Personally, I'm looking forward to 2.2 and 2.3's content WAY more than 2.1's and don't want to wait past their advertised launch dates to enjoy those features.
I understand if there is a delay, but I haven't heard anything regarding these patches and would like to be informed earlier rather than later if they are delayed.

Given 2.1 will add a few new multicannons and lasers, and given it has been delayed (over things more complex and far-reaching than weapon options, i believe), I'd hope FD might sweeten the pot by taking the time to add a few more options to our firepower.
A revision to missiles/torpedoes has been mentioned as coming in 2.1, but are we going to see large and huge launchers? Is there a chance of getting the plasma repeater in 2.1? Can large and heavy railguns make their debut?

It'd mean a lot to me to hear some news on these topics from the devs, or if they have said more and I've missed it, could someone send me the link?

Who knows? FD do... But it could be that 2.2 and 2.3 are ready, just waiting for some foundation work from 2.1

Nothing more to add really

Railguns are unlikely, unless those are rebalanced from the bottom to top at same time.

On the other hand, it would be very very nice to see whole slew of weapons and weapon bays that you could install on large/huge mounts. All types. It´s mostly just a matter of whipping up the model and scaling some stats to match the progression in heat, power draw, ammo capacity and alpha/dpm. Powerplay weapons as well. Current situation where only one size is available is quite sad to be honest.

It depends on dependencies and resource allocation.

There could be no delay or lots of delay to 2.2 and it is impossible for non FD staff to know that without insider information.

This topic has been discussed to dead on other treads. Quick forum search would have showed that. Go read through those threads as you won't get any other answers than on those threads.

2.1

add huge cannons
add huge MC
add large MC
add large something

They are on it.

I think, there are about 95 % chance that everything (2.2,2.3, 2.4) will be delayed.

On what basis?
.
Information that has been released at the time of the press release to the Stock Market suggest that teams were and are still working on 2.2 2.3 2.4 and also on Season 3

If 2.1 lays the groundwork for persistent NPCs and USS then it's definitely worth the wait.

I don't care about Engineers themselves to be completely honest.

The delay on 2.1 left me shaken and disturbed, and all the questions kept coming up over and over again, like bubbles in a case of club soda. Who was this character without hair? And why was he looking so grumpy? And for whom? Did FDEV lie to me? I didn't have any proof, but somehow, I didn't entirely trust them either. Why was the 'huge railgun' not listed in the newsletter? And if it was, did they know about it? And if they didn't, who did? And where the hell was I?

Careful. The answesr to these questions might destabilize the fabrics of reality. But It's save to say, the engineer is so grumpy because there are no news about him in the latest newsletters.

I don't know whether or not the remaining Horizons updates will be delayed because of the long development time on 2.1 ... but I hope that they will be. Yes, you read that right. Reasoning: I don't want the remaining Horizons updates to be rushed out in an incomplete or buggy state, just to meet an artificial deadline. I'd much rather see the timespan of season 2 extended to accommodate the extra time that was needed for 2.1, so that the rest of the updates can get the attention and detail they deserve, and so that I get my money's worth out of my Horizons season purchase.

Quality over quantity, old school teaching.

All flippant talking down to aside, OP raises an interesting (if unanswerable) question.

I wonder if they'll roll some of 2.2s features into the 2.1 release to cathedral up on their yearly timeline?
