Will a JWE2 be announced later this year?

EI know it may seem a little traveled, but think, Frontier practically put the game aside for good and by the way we will have nothing more and with the new generation coming and so many games being announced, Are they already preparing marketing strategy for the new game to come out next or even before Dominion? I've been thinking a lot about this possibility, anyway, it's just a small discussion what I've been thinking about for some time, what do you think?

The original was announced on the 21st of August of the previous year as far as I can tell, so it'll probably end up being announced some point later than that.

I feel the old hype train might have been a bit on the long side for what this game started out as, pretty quickly becoming a disappointment to quite a few. The sequel might not suffer much from that anyway, though I feel there's going to be more people waiting till after release to consider buying it.

I'm not really sure what route they should go down marketing wise, whether to continue with the species profiles or give IGN the first look again for example, but I imagine they've got plans in place.

i think jwe 2 probly was being deisgn to come out with jw3 or around that time so some time summer 2021. but now with everthing being delay they might be moving jw3 to 2022 and if so most like jwe2 as well. i think the dino they want for the game and the story for the game would somehow be tie in some what or use element and beats from it. so they woudnt want to let the game come out early do to maybe spoiling the moive or parts of it

Whatever this 2021 "major global IP" game is, it's confirmed to be scheduled for Financial Year 2022 (which will run from the beginning of June 2021 to the end of May 2022) in the year 2021, accordingly to the London Stock Exchange. This means it will release between June or December of next year, and so far, plans have not been made for later dates.

End of financial year is June 30th though, unless it's just different in Australia.

It's also possible that any announcements and plans are delayed until further notice thanks to Covid related messes...announcing it and then hitting more issues isn't quite something they're probably wanting to mess with. Sure, Dominion is filming, but it seems like Camp Cretaceous was delayed due to voice actor recording issues...so, other delays are possible

again, I highly doubt there will be a sequel, I think there will just be DLCS and expansion packs or a sequel story in the same game kinda like hl2 episode 1

Whatever this "major global IP" game is, which is where these rumors are centered on (speculations and "leaks"), I'm sure it will be revealed what exactly it is for the 2020 Gamescom (digital) event, since that's coming up in less than three weeks from now, because that's where Frontier usually showcases their newly upcoming games, and they are on this year's Gamescom event list. But, I know it won't be the only thing they will be showcasing there, as there are a couple of other major things of theirs coming up for two of their current games.

However, it should also be taken into consideration that "the game" (as they call it as of now) may be announced at least a few days or so before the event starts, because Jurassic World Evolution, the other game based on a major global (or Hollywood) IP accordingly to their contract with Universal, was first announced two days before the start of the 2017 Gamescom event where it was announced much further.

So, whatever it is, these rumors will all be over soon, "hopefully" around the Gamescom week, before or during the event running days.

I think JWE2 is quite possible as mentioned in my JWE2 thread. Especially with the push of JW3 to 2022. That is marketing magic if it indeed happens. I say we would get a trailer by sometime next year if that is the case.

With the complete edition out. It seems as though they would be putting time into JWE2 instead of feeding into JWE. Especially with new advancements and marketing capability with JW3 in 2022.

Doubt there'll be a sequel so close to the first game. Unless they have so many employees that they can work on two games simultaneously. They can't get a completely new game ready in such a short amount of time.

As of October 2019 Frontier did only have 500 employees overall, though I wouldn't be surprised if they've added another 50 or so since then. I believe how they do things is that they've got basic crews for each game to lay a foundation and a large floating workforce that can focus down on a game for a year or so.
