Will a rift work?

Does anyone know if there is any chance of an oculus rift performing to an acceptable on a late 2014 macbook pro retina running bootcamp? I can play the game with most graphics settings on high at 1920x1200, but not sure if this is likely to translate to a reasonable rift experience?

Some basic system specs:
processor - i7-4980HQ @2.8GHz
Ram - 16gb DDR3
HD - All SSD
Video - GeForce GT 750M, 2GB GDDR5

I really want this to work - but fear it might not and can't justify the outlay unless I can be reasonably sure it will be OK.

I had it working fine on lowish graphic settings with a 780m

Cool, thanks - sounds like I'll probably have to give it a miss - the 780m looks to be quite a bit more powerful than the 750M. Flat screen for me... for a while at least :(

I wouldn't give up hope just yet... Wait and see who posts... You might still be in luck :)

my work computer is a macbook pro that i have running win8 and the i7-4850 with a 750m. It being my work computer, i cant have Elite Dangerous on it, but i did grab a couple demo's because my work buddies wanted to try out the oculus. The demo's are juddery messes. Only pulling about 50fps tops. So i would imagine ED on this machine would not be able to get me the fps you need for comfortable playing.

Ya, my Desktop at home is
i7-4770k
gtx 670 4g ftw SLI <---- these will get swapped out once the gtx 980ti comes out
32gb ram
512gb ssd
2tb hd

and i run the game on the rift with settings mostly in med and a couple in high. Blur off, AA off of course. Only go under 75fps while first time loading a station. I get a little laggy in SC and When i first go into hyperspace, but apparently thats an issue even on top tier cards right now.

Well, my single gtx 670ftw outperforms a 560ti and i cant play ED with just the single card. I have to have sli enabled to get a stable frame rate at medium settings. So i would say no, an upgrade is needed.
