Will all ground settlements accept your landing request?

If a settlement has fallen to a group of pirates - will they deny landing requests?

I think they should!

It would make players have to settle their ship down further afield and go in via stealth or SRV.

It does seem a little silly granting permission for hostiles to land. The same should go for wanted players when the settlement is occupied by a lawful faction.

In the gameplay video, the pilot was friendly with the faction, initially. I would assume if he was on bad terms with them, he'd have been prevented from landing. That would seem like a no-brainer. But I guess we'll see.

Where is this confirmed?
It isn't but surely you can agree that common sense says it would be completely mental to be otherwise. The game already has a functional way to determine whether a player is allowed to approach a ground installation in a ship, I don't see anybody complaining about it (which is virtually unheard of in this game) so why on earth wouldn't they continue to apply the same pre-existing logic to ground installations post-Odyssey?

If for some reason you think they will have made such a pointless change, the 29th will reveal all.

In the game currently an attempt to dock at a hostile outpost or station will be met with a refusal and weapons unleashed...

I'd have thought that the pilot of the ship, departing the pad before the mission was executed, would retain the reputation existing until the rest of the 'crew' boarded, then be a 'criminal' because of that.

That actually didn't appear to happen in the demo. Not sure why but it's not 100% straightforward I think. Might be work in progress or depend on ship boarding permissions maybe but if I'm wanted, should the whole wing be? Or if I board your ship and base don't like you no more either, sayonara Rat Catcher's ship (ganked). Not straightforward, it seemed (as far as I could see from the demo) to default to the individual's (or hot ship) wanted status (a bit different from OP's rep question)

Actually, it is worth considering... I've not noticed in a wing what happens if one or more members get wanted (too busy normally)

The possibilites have merit :ROFLMAO:

If a wingmate is hostile you will see police ships as purple (on a default colour scheme) but they don't fire on you. Never tried it with multi-crew but I think your assumption is a reasonable one.

My point was about getting docking permission, that's already a mechanism in the game now.

... and another answer to something I didn't know! (but did wonder) (y)

Usually the plonker identifies himself by "Hey, everyone is red?!"

edit
In a CZ that it.
Re-reading, you meant it in a more general context.

Try getting hostile to a faction and landing at an outpost owned by them... (speaking from experience here ;))
The mechanic already exists in the game, why should it be altered for an expansion? Particularly when it is one of the most logical reactions one would expect.
One of the worst (or best) depending on how you look at it, hostile station incidents for me was when I was helping a war effort for control of a system.
I would take missions and destroy enemy ships in CZs, then dock at the enemy station to rearm etc.

I knew I was very close to being at the end of my time of being able to dock there, though I still had docking permissions and they had not turned hostile... yet.
So I landed rearmed etc and then handed in the mission... that last bit was a bad move.
Handing in the mission dropped my ratting with the station owners enough to make the station hostile to me.
All hell broke out with sirens, lights and BIG lasers.
I quickly hit the enter hanger button and sat there trying to get my heart beat down and to be able to breath again.
All whilst my wing "mates" where screaming with laughter and lining up outside the station to watch the fire works when I tried to leave :)

So I get my pips ready (full systems and a couple in engines).
Request launch... line up and boost, Im in a 4k shielded FDL with a 525+ boost... Im like "come on blippy you can do this !!"
Im starting to think "maybe I can" as I am screaming though the letter box fa-off and slightly sideways at 525+
less than one second after clearing the letter box, I am a fast moving ball of flame, all I can hear is the laughter of my so called "friends" over discord.

Thus I have my cautionary tale for others in discord of the dangers of handing in missions at the enemy station.
Twas fun though :)
