Newcomer / Intro Will deleting my commander restore all my settings to defaults?

I tried looking around the internet but found no answer for this. I basically just need to know if deleting my commander will also restore all of my graphics, audio & controller settings to defaults. I want to start from a clean slate with a new commander, but I would rather not spend hours doing the settings all over again to get them just the way I like them. I'm hoping someone can tell me the settings are stored in a different file somewhere and aren't affected by a commander delete.

Also, if they do get reset to defaults with a character wipe, is there a way to back up all of my settings so I can just drop them in for my new commander?

No, settings are kept in a bindings and settings file on your computer. It will stay, unless you uninstall the game.

It is kept in the:
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options
In case you'd like to back it up, just in case or for future use.
