Will Elite follow Star Citizen with the decision to use Vulkan?

This is only applicable should Star Citizen even come out lol. On top of that, the QQ in that game will be real from all the kickstarter players who paid thousands of dollars real money to get mega ships. You wanna talk about unfair PvP? Everyone not a kickstarter backer will be ganked from day 1 lol.

I disagree, the RSI article doesn't hint at Elite: Dangerous being available for linux

I'd love to see support for Vulkan for ED. After witnessing how much a performance improvement it provides for Doom, I'm all for it

That's Doom only, other titles that support Vulkan don't fare as well. The Talos Principle runs worse on Vulkan and so does Dota2, albeit on nvidia only, though amd's gains in Dota2 under vulkan are only ~2-3 fps higher than DX11.

I really don't think the vision pitched by Chris Roberts will ever see the light of day, but I think there will be a final "release" of what there is of the game. It will likely not be much more than there is now.

Lol so many people triggered over the words "Star Citizen". I've payed as much as a Constellation in Elite, and only paid 50 bucks for an Avenger in Star Citizen. Both games are bad, don't deny it lmfao. XD

I don't know if talking about SC in a thread that mentions SC in the topic is being 'triggered,' you might be being a bit liberal with the term there, but similarly I bought Cutlass to get into the game, and I like the look of the game, i just don't see it being pieced together...
