TL:.DR: large number of scientists and research facilities along with Event Horizon Telescope after several years of research finally are going to reveal first ever pictures of the center of our galaxy's supermassive black hole, along with another black hole in the center of Messier 87 galaxy and gonna talk a lot of sciency stuff and details about what they managed to capture, analyze and how it affects our current understandings of TOR and things around us.

If something major is gonna break through (high possibility, yet lack of PR makes me wonder) will FDev update ingame looks and behaviour of the famous system?
Do they even aware of this stuff happening today?

Eli5 : How can you have a clear picture of it since it is absorbing light no ?
It will most likely contain some sort of visible event horizon images, along with flumes of ratiation blasting out of the black hole, all said is probably gonna be surrounded by gas clouds and lots of stars surrounding the center.

I do not at all expect these photo's to have the visual information that is needed to warrant graphical changes in ED.

Perhaps based on visual observations with numerous sorts and ammounts of data they would shed light on how black holes actually work.
That could lead to some mechanics change applied to all black holes in the game, possibly.
