Will group super cruise be implemented?

I'm wondering if there be some kind of fleet jump be implemented? I thought it was a good idea on eve. Now yes Elite dangerous is in my eyes super special I love it, hardly stopped playing it since I bought the premium beta a while ago.

Me and my mate play and we were both saying how great it would be to do a group jump so we arrive together as we watch each other's backs. Please let me know if it is going to be implemented, or something along those lines.

I appreciate it fellow commanders, cheers

I LOVE ELITE DANGEROUS I CANT GET ENOUGH. WISH I WAS GOING TO THE OPENING PARTY,
IM GUTTED. HAHA

they once mentioned something like hyperdrive-slaving
if that is still planned or even in at release, we don't know yet

i hope so, because i would like to help friends at unknown sites and when interdicted etc.

Would certainly be an interesting feature, can imagine folks with long distance jump drives hooking up with a new player or a short range combat ship and dragging them huge distances to get in fights etc or dragging a ship totally set up for hauling cos its drive cant jump the weight or its been busted in a fight (rescue missions) .... many routes that mechanic can take not just friend traveling :)

This feature is absolutely critical and necessary for escort type missions. Without it you can basically discount any escort type NPC or player driven missions over multiple jump points.

And without that type of mission variety ED missions are gonna fall really short of being semi-interesting.

Short answer, we have no idea.

Group-slaved travel was a design proposal for Alliances, now called wings, however the status of the alliancing facility is unknown.

And I agree, it is an essential mechanism for group play.

It's the single most important feature of the game and I would be very surprised if it isn't in gamma. Without it, you can't honestly call this a multiplayer game.

Edit: my post refers to the ability to travel to the same location as other players (such as USS's). FSD drive slaving isn't necessary for that, but would be a very logical way to do it in addition to a simple beacon type thing.

Some kind of group supercruising would be a nice addition but there's one thing they need to consider: Should you be able to interdict a group of fewer players than your own group? Or we'll be getting packs of players 'owning' systems.

Group fights will add more to the player generated content. With 4B stars universe player controlled system should not be a problem.

Of all the missing features from DDF, I think there's a good chance that group FSD slaving will be one of the few that will be added for gamma/release. It's a very important feature for the enjoyment of the multiplayer gameplay with friends.

...

I wouldn't quite go that far, but yeah without it the game is seriously lacking.

Unfortunately at the moment "grouping" is just an instance-limiting mechanism and none of the functions that support and encourage effective group play exist at all.

One of the original E:D concept videos were a group of players dropping out of Hyperspace together to save a Federal Capital ship.

I know it's coming. Even in a way, the 'Interdiction' mechanic lends to it.

I am curious about the implementation, as there is a curious lack of 'Autopilot' in this game (which i find refreshing, actually).
